Australia – Bangkok, Thailand Depart Sydney at 10.00am on TG 476, arriving in Bangkok at 4.20pm. Depart Brisbane at 2.00pm on TG 474, arriving in Bangkok at 8.20pm. Bangkok – Rose Garden This morning we head south out of Bangkok. En route we stop and inspect a large export orchid nursery and an adjoining lemon orchard. The orchid nursery is huge, covering over 60 acres. The owner has bred more than 1500 varieties of new hybrids, with most of them being exported world wide. We then travel to the famous Rose Garden with its extensive grounds and beautiful gardens. We have an included buffet lunch, followed by a cultural show with traditional Thai dancing, boxing and sword fighting. After this there is a short demonstration of elephants at work. Afterwards we check into our hotel, situated within the grounds of the Rose Garden with its lovely lake. Accommodation: Sampran Riverside

Rose Garden - Bangkok This morning we return to Bangkok. Our first stop is at Bangkok Flower Market, with its huge display of tropical and temperate flowers, and beautiful floral arrangements available for sale. We transfer to the Chao Phraya River and have lunch on a lovely restaurant boat floating through the river. This is followed by a cruise of Bangkok’s Klongs (canals). Because of its extensive canal network, Bangkok was often called ‘Venice of the East’. During the cruise we will stop and inspect the Royal Barges Museum, which displays spectacular barges used on important ceremonial occasions. Later in the afternoon we transfer to the Manhattan Hotel (3 star), situated in the area of the Sukhumvit Night Market. We will have the use of the hotel rooms until 9pm, where we can freshen up and enjoy an included dinner. This evening we transfer to the airport for our flight to Switzerland.

Bangkok – Zurich, Switzerland Depart Bangkok at 1.05am on TG 970, arriving in Zurich at 7.50am. We will be picked up at the airport and transferred to central Zurich. At 9.45am we will have a two hour tour of Zurich aboard a classic trolley bus with a comprehensive commentary in English by headset. Following the city tour we will board a modern lake cruise ship for a 1½ hour cruise on Lake Zurich. Relax on board while passing pretty lakeside villages, snuggled at the foot of vineyard clad hills, numerous swimming areas and stately villas. Enjoy the fresh lake air and the gorgeous views of the city in one direction and snow covered mountains in the other. Afterwards we are transferred to our hotel for an overnight stay. Zurich – Basel, Switzerland This morning is at leisure. This afternoon we will be transferred by motorcoach to Basel, where our river cruise vessel, the Avalon Imagery II, is docked. Heidelberg – Mainz, Germany This morning an included excursion takes us to Heidelberg, home to Germany’s oldest university, which was founded in 1386. We visit the imposing ruins of Heidelberg Castle, towering magnificently over the city and among the most important Renaissance structures north of the Alps. We will also see the famed Great Vat, the ‘World’s Largest Wine Barrel’. At nearly 23 feet high and 28 feet wide, the cask holds over 58,000 gallons of wine and has a dance floor built on top of it. In the afternoon we arrive in Mainz, which today is Germany’s largest and most important wine market. The Altstadt (Old Town) has many intriguing shops and the whimsical Fastnachtsbrunnen (Carnival Fountain) on the Schillerplatz, a tribute to the jesters at the city’s annual carnival celebration. Gutenberg, father of modern printing, was born here and during a guided walk we will visit the captivating Gutenberg Museum. Accommodation: Onboard

Rudesheim – Rhine Gorge - Koblenz This morning we dock in pretty Rudesheim, a typical Rhine Valley wine town. We visit Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum, where we will see and hear a large collection of self-playing calliopes and music boxes from the 18th to the early 20th centuries and enjoy a special treat. Downstream from Rudesheim is the dramatic Rhine Gorge, the most beautiful stretch of river. Here, ancient castles stand sentry on lofty cliffs rising 400 feet above the waters. Cruise past the legendary rock of the Lorelei, where echoes of enchanted siren songs lured unwitting sailors to their doom. Then arrive at the place where the Rhine and Moselle Rivers meet – the Deutsches Eck (German Corner) with its impressive equestrian statue of German Emperor William I. Join our local guide for a walking tour of the 2,000 year old city of Koblenz, which reveals an eventful past through its castles, fortress walls, towers, squares and monuments. Amsterdam – Zaanse Schans – The Hague At 9am this morning we disembark the cruise ship and are collected for a morning city tour of Amsterdam. In the afternoon we have a tour of Zaanse Schans including a visit to a cheese and wooden clogs manufacturer. Zaanse Schans is one of the highlights of the Netherlands. Be part of a vibrant and stunning living and working community that dates back to the 18th century. It is packed with wooden windmills, barns, houses and museums built in the typical Dutch wooden architectural style. Afterwards we transfer to The Hague for a two night stay. The Hague – Delft – The Hague In the morning we have a city tour of The Hague. The Hague is one of the most extraordinary cities in the Netherlands, with its many monuments, historic districts and its coastal location. The Hague is also known as the “Royal City By The Sea” because many members of the Dutch Royal Family reside in its chic neighbourhoods. We will visit the Mauritshuis, the home of the very best of Dutch Golden Age painting. Masterpieces such as Vermeer’s ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring’ and Rembrandt’s ‘The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp’ are on permanent display. More than 200 top works from Dutch and Flemish masters are on display in the historic interior with its silk wall coverings, sparkling chandeliers and monumental painted ceilings. In the afternoon there is a visit to Delft with its historic town centre, numerous canals and interesting bridges. We have a short city walk during the tour. We will visit the Royal Delft Pottery Factory. Delft Blue is the world famous earthenware pottery that has been produced in the city since the 17th century. Afterwards we return to our hotel. The Hague – Rotterdam – Antwerp, Belgium A full day tour to the Keukenhof Tulip Fields and to Rotterdam. Keukenhof is also known as ‘The Garden of Europe’ and is often described as the most beautiful spring garden in the world. About 7 million flower bulbs are planted annually in the park which covers an area of 79 acres. The Keukenhof features a variety of different gardens and garden styles, for example the English Landscape Garden features winding paths and unexpected see-through points. The historical garden is an enclosed garden where you can see many old types of blubs. The nature garden consists of a water garden where shrubs and perennials are combined with bulbous plants. The Japanese Country Garden is a non-traditional garden in a natural environment. When we visit the tulips should be in full bloom. In the afternoon there is a visit to Rotterdam, the busiest harbour in Europe. During our Rotterdam tour we will see the famous Cubic Houses. These unique high-density housing cubes are tilted on hexagonal poles. We will also visit Rotterdam’s Euromast, the best known building in Holland. The space tower has become a real space adventure with an audio-visual simulation of a space journey. The Euromast is the highest observation

Antwerp – Bruges - Antwerp Today we have a full day excursion to Bruges, Belgium’s most perfectly preserved medieval town. Its beautiful architecture attracts more than 2 million visitors each year. The entire city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This medieval gem, criss-crossed by canals and cobbled streets, never fails to surprise and delight visitors. In the morning there will be a guided walk including entrance to the Church of Our Lady. The church’s 112 metre high spire is the tallest in Belgium. Work began on this church around 1230, with additions in the 14th and 15th centuries. The church holds a wealth of art treasures, among which is a sublime sculpture by Michelangelo, ‘The Virgin and Child’. In the afternoon there will be a one hour guided city tour by Horse Tram. The carriage drivers give a running commentary on the historic city. After this there will be a visit to a beer brewery, including one free beer per person. Antwerp - Brussels Today we have a full day tour of Brussels. Brussels is not only the capital of Belgium, but is also the centre of the European Union. Brussels is known for its interesting Art Nouveau architecture, many designed by Victor Horta. We will visit the Atomium, which a very bizarre building constructed for the 1958 Brussels World Fair and is now a museum. The building stands 102 metres high and consists of 9 inter-connected stainless steel spheres. The connecting tubes enclose escalators and a lift to allow access to the 5 habitable spheres which contain exhibit halls. The top sphere provides a panoramic view of Brussels. The tour will also visit the Royal Greenhouses of Laken. They are only opened to the public for 3 weeks each year. They are part of the Royal Palace Grounds and were built by King Leopold II to house his huge collection of plants from all over the world and especially from the then Belgian Congo. The greenhouses are huge, covering 2.5 hectares. Most of the plants should be in full flower and the rare tree species fill these vast spaces with intoxicating scents. Please note that if for some reason the Royal Greenhouses of Laken are not open there will be an alternative visit to another venue. Also included is a city walking tour and a visit to a local chocolaterie, which includes a tasting. Belgium is famous for its quality chocolates. Brussels – Ghent - Brussels Ghent is considered to be Belgium’s most beautiful city and has a flourishing flower

export trade. The city centre is a pedestrian only area that is like a museum to early Flemish architecture. On our tour of Ghent we will visit St Bravo’s Cathedral where we can view the Van Eyck masterpiece ‘The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb’. After this we have a boat trip in the historical centre of Ghent. In the afternoon we visit the Floralia Spring Flower Exhibition in the park and the greenhouses at the castle of Groot-Bijgaarden. The park covers 14 hectares and incorporates nearly all spring bulb varieties. The gardeners have planted by hand more than a million bulbs. We will have the opportunity to discover 500 varieties, including 400 tulip varieties. One of the gardens is dedicated to rhododendrons and azaleas. These gardens were created in the early 20th century and were the first gardens in the world to exhibit rhododendrons. Afterwards we return to our hotel in Brussels.
