1878 A plain “cube” style mahogany coin cabinet, 240mm wide x 250mm high x 255mm deep, containing 17 double-pierced trays, all 25mm apertures, plain doors, brass pulls, recessed top brass handle. Superb condition. £400-500 one of many cabinets of this type formerly owned by RC Lockett

1879 A plain “cube” style mahogany coin cabinet by Warings of Liverpool, 242mm wide x 230mm high x 242mm deep, containing 19 double-pierced trays, all 33mm apertures, plain doors, white pulls, recessed top brass handle. Some chips and scratches externally, light corrosion on label holders, but sound and useful. £250-300

1880 A drop front, lift top mahogany coin cabinet by E Lincoln, 300mm x 110mm high x 255mm deep, containing 6 loose single-pierced trays, various size apertures, brass pulls, side handles, ivorine label EDGAR LINCOLN, COIN DEALER, 2, HOLLES STREET OXFORD ST. LONDON, W. Good condition. £250-300 Lincoln moved to Holles Street in 1900

1881 A drop front, lift top mahogany coin cabinet by E Lincoln, 300mm x 135mm high x 265mm deep, containing 9 loose single-pierced trays, various size apertures, brass pulls, side handles, ivorine label EDGAR LINCOLN, COIN DEALER, 2, HOLLES STREET OXFORD ST. LONDON, W. Good condition. £250-300 in the well of the cabinet are various advertising items from E Lincoln including a letter about cabinet felts and three sets of sample coin tickets

1882 An early 19th Century coin cabinet by W Roberts, 302mm wide x 318mm high x 318mm wide x 245mm deep, containing 18 double-pierced trays, all 45mm apertures and a deep plain tray, fine feather veneered doors, white pulls, brass side handles. Veneers chipped and lifting in places, but internally sound. £600-800 a trade label is affixed to the underside of the plain tray reading: Roberts, Cabinet Maker, 13 Philip Lane, London Wall and the hand written date Dec 23 - 1820

1883 A 19th Century mahogany coin cabinet, 355mm wide x 360mm high x 305mm deep, containing 25 double-pierced trays, various size apertures, panel doors, white pulls and brass label holders, brass side handles. Some felt rounds missing, some damped, top beads loose, one door panel loose, but generally in good order. £750-950

1884 A 19th Century oak and mahogany coin cabinet, 355mm wide x 370mm high x 325mm deep, the carcase of oak, containing 24 oak-fronted double-pierced mahogany trays, bevelled mirror panel doors, brass pulls, ivorine label SPINK & SON, LONDON. Some flaws to beads but generally in good order. £500-600

1885 A late-Georgian dark mahogany coin cabinet impressed C.A on the door tops, 285mm wide x 405mm high x 370mm deep, containing 26 double pierced trays, 36mm and 42mm apertures, white pulls and brass label holders, feather veneered panel doors with brass meeting strip, recessed brass side handles. Both side beads lacking, some minor external damage, interior dusty, but a handsome and capacious piece. £1000-1200

1886 A modern mahogany coin cabinet by Swann, 325mm wide x 255mm high x 300mm deep, containing 20 double-pierced trays with rosewood fronts, 25mm and 30mm apertures, panel doors, brass pulls. Almost as new. £350-400

1887 A Pair of Victorian stained pine collectors’ cabinets, 380mm wide x 425mm high x 255mm deep, each containing six deep plush lined plain drawers with sliding glass lids, a single arch-topped glazed door. Some scratches, otherwise good condition. (2) £400-500

1888 A modern drop front mahogany coin cabinet by Swann, 325mm wide x 150mm high x 305mm deep containing 10 double pierced trays with rosewood fronts, 52mm (1) and 42mm (9) apertures, brass pulls. Good condition. £250-300

1889 A modern dark mahogany coin cabinet by Nicholls, 290mm wide x 176mm high x 300mm deep containing 14 single-pierced trays, various size apertures, plain doors, brass pulls. Good condition. £100-150 1890 Two glass-topped mahogany display cases, one 480mm x 340mm x 75mm, the second 475mm x 379mm the top sloping from 130mm to 70mm; and a mahogany storage box 450mm x 360mm x 70mm, the interior divided into compartments with some moveable divisions. (4) £40-60 1891 Medal Collectors’ Mahogany Cabinets (2), first with two drawers and lid compartment holding a total of seven felt-lined plain trays, locking bars, lock and key, 450mm x 310mm x 230mm; the second a plain box with felt-lined base tray and two stacking trays, lock and key, 460mm x 310mm x 120mm, both with carrying handles, seemingly converted from canteens. In excellent condition and very practical. (2) £60-80

1892 A Stone’s Special Class 1 Dispensing Balance, an early 20th Century brass balance housed in a glass and mahogany case with a lift up sliding glass front, with two boxes of gramme and grain weights, a trade label in the accessory drawer gives the maker as W. Stone, Heliograph Maker, 41, Gloucester Street, Bloomsbury, London, WC.
