LANGUAGES

Languages

Learning a language can be a challenge. It takes time and dedication however it can be very rewarding. Learn speaking and listening skills and find out more about different cultures. Try out a new language, or brush up on skills learnt at school. We have courses in French, Italian and Spanish as well as British Sign Language. Year one covers the basics: introduce yourself; translate simple sentences; ask directions. By the end of the year you will be getting a feel for the language and culture, sentence structure and vocabulary. Year two you will gain more grasp of grammar, work with different tenses and expand the range of subjects you can talk about. Conversation and Advanced conversation are for more experienced language learners who wish to meet weekly and practice their skills. Our language courses are free of exams and have a social aspect to them: some classes will visit a foreign film, or enjoy a meal together in the local French, Italian or Tapas bar!
