FROM THE HEADMASTER… Dear Parents The Thanksgiving Service was hosted at the Strooidak Church on Sunday, 13 November 2016. The service was led by Bryce Turi (parent and Pastor) and was well attended by many families from our school. I want to thank all the families that made time in their busy schedules to give praise to our Heavenly Father for all the blessings that we have received. Member of FPI and FIA, and in 2000 became the youngest FIA member to be appointed as director. 2000-2007: Expanding company operations into the Optimum Group of Companies with various offices countrywide. Diversified business to include, Short term insurance, asset management, property finance, legal advice ,pension fund consulting. 2007- Currently: Group CEO of Optimum Group: Specialises in asset management as well as business and strategic consulting. Expanded offshore and international asset management and consulting operations. Director on various boards – e.g. Novare Wealth: international asset management company, Cedar Advisory Services: an Imperial Holdings owned company. Interests

Fixed wing pilot, participating in precision flying and air races. Mountain biking and running. Acting as mentor and life coach for various sportsmen transitioning into the business world.

Why he makes himself available for election:

I make myself available to serve on the Governing Body, purely to serve the children and support the vision of quality education. I firmly belief in giving back to my community and would like to show my appreciation for the strong values and discipline offered by Klein Boishaai. I believe that discipline, respect and leadership is something that should be taught to children from an early age, and it will be a great privilege to play a small part by serving on the School’s Governing Body. RIAAN TERBLANCHE Areas of expertise: I have held various executive level positions over the last 16 years. In these positions my responsibilities included: Strategic Planning, Human Capital Development, Acquisitions, Communications and Operational functions. I hold an MBA, a Master degree in Social Sciences, an Honours in Journalism and a degree in Psychology. I am currently a director at a Private Equity Investment firm based in Stellenbosch. Leadership: 2008-2015: Chief Operating Officer of the BPO division at listed technology firm, EOH. 1998-2008: Chief Operating Officer at Financial Services firm, HPFS.

2013-2016: HOA Trustee at Val de Vie. Why he makes himself available for election: I view formal education in general and the education of values in particular to be the backbone of a changing society. Our diverse and unique society provides both opportunities and challenges and our children must be prepared to face both with equal measure of enthusiasm. Our three boys will be the 3rd generation of learners at PBS and I hope to make a positive contribution to a unique tradition to enable all our children to face this future.

JANNIE VAN NIEKERK Areas of expertise: 2012 to current: Financial Director at Bidvest Food Ingredients 2007 to 2012: Head of Finance and Group Financial Manager at Rhodes Food Group

I have extensive experience in financial management as well as strategic directions within a corporate environment. My passions are strategy, financial reporting as well as evaluating financial impact when making business decisions. Why I want to make myself available: I want to invest more time in areas of the community. Paarl Boys Primary school is important to me. My twin boys are in grade 1 currently (with another little guy joining from 2018 in grade R) and I believe that parents need to be involved in school activities as far possible. I know I will be able to make a valuable contribution.

14 November was Kenridge’s annual Relay Gala. This gala focuses on giving the younger children an opportunity to take part in a relay gala and to expose them to gala conditions . It was a fun day enjoyed by all. See the results:
