Himalayas and Golden Temple (NRT05) – 13 nights/ 14 days Day 01 Arrive Delhi On arrival in Delhi you will be met and transferred to Hotel. Overnight at the hotel. Day 02 Delhi Breakfast at the hotel. A.m. at leisure. P.m. visit Old Delhi. Visit Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana - the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, and Chandni Chowk. Overnight at the hotel. * Do note that Red Fort remains closed on Mondays.

Day 03 Delhi - Kalka - Shimla Breakfast on board train. A.m. transfer to Delhi railway station for train to Shimla via Kalka 2011 KALKA SHATABDI EXP NEW DELHI 07:40 KALKA 12:00 hrs (AC chair car) 255 HIMALYAN QUEEN KALKA 12:10 SIMLA 17:20 hrs (AC chair car) On arrival in Shimla you will be met and transferred to Hotel. Overnight at the hotel Day 04 Shimla Breakfast at the hotel. A.m. full day visits covering Shimla and Naldehra. Shimla at an altitude of 2130 meters is a utterly charming resort & is the best loved hill station in India & has been a favourite since British troops set up camp here in 1819. At an altitude of 2130 meters, the Shimla town is a beautiful place. With the Mall and Ridge being main attractions, climbing beyond Scandal point & Ridge beyond Shimla a 2 Kms walk takes your to the Jakhoo hill, with a panoramic view of Shimla & Hanuman temple Visit Naldera, 23 km from Shimla at 2044 m. Here one can see the deep gorge of the Sutlej River from here, and listen to its gurgling in this otherwise quiet place. But Naldhera is mainly famous for its nine-hole golf course, one of the oldest and highest in the country. It has a springy turf and a crown of deodar trees. The course, whose topography is absolutely natural, was laid out at the turn of the century at the instance of Lord Curzon, the then Viceroy of India Overnight at the hotel.

Day 05 Shimla – Kufri (16 kms, +/- 45 mins) Kufri – Chail (30 kms, +/- 1.5 hours) Chail – Shimla via Khandaghat (60 kms, +/- 2 hours) Breakfast at the hotel. A.m. full day visits coverig Kufri and Chail. Visit Kufri - 16 km from Shimla at 2,622 mts is this mini hill station. It has long been famous for its ski slopes, and panoramic views where deep valleys and forests rise towards the lofty Himalayas, shrouded by un-melting snows. Through thick cedar woods one can walk up to the Mahasu Peak, or examine the little zoo. Later continue to Chail. Chail hill station of Himachal Pradesh acts as a honeymooners paradise. Chail lies at a height of 2,250 metres above the sea level.Bhupinder Singh, Maharaja of Patiala, when was facing an exiled from Shimla, he decided to create his own summer capital, which was Chail. It has the highest cricket and gold fields in the world. Later return to Shimla. Overnight at the hotel. Day 06 Shimla - Jwalamukhi (240 kms, +/- 6.5 hours) Jwalamukhi - Dharamshala (60 kms, +/- 2 hours) Breakfast at the hotel. A.m. drive to Dharamshala. Enroute visit of Jwalamukhi temple, 60 Kms from Dharamsala. On arrival check in at Hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel. Day 07 Dharamsala Breakfast at the hotel. Full day visits. A beautiful little hill resort, lying on the other side of Chamba. It is the headquarters of Kangra district. The town is built on a spur of Dhauladhar range, and varies from 1250 meters to nearly 180 meters. The waterfall of Bhagsunath is within a walking distance. Dalai Lama, the head of Tibetan Buddhism, who fled Lhasa in 1959 has lived in refuge in this hill town. Overnight at the hotel. Day 08 Dharamsala - Dalhousie (143 kms, +/- 4 hours) Breakfast at the hotel. A.m. drive to Dalhousie. Check in at hotel.

P.m. visits A summer hill resort par excellence, founded by Lord Dalhousie in the British days in 1850 as a sanatorium. It is situated 563 kms from Delhi and lies on the outer slopes of the Dhaula Dhar Range of the Himalayas. Apart from its own considerable scenic attraction, it is the gateway to Chamba, the vale of milk, honey, springs and streams. Overnight at the hotel. Day 09 Dalhousie Breakfast at the hotel. Full day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10 Dalhousie - Amritsar (190 kms, +/- 6 hours) Breakfast at the hotel. A.m. drive to Amritsar. On arrival check in at Hotel. P.m. at leisure. Overnight at the hotel. Day 11 Amritsar Breakfast at the hotel. A.m. visits. Visit the Golden temple - The sacred Sikh sanctuary, marbled, bronzed & covered with gold leaf wherein the Guru Granth Sahib- The Bible of the Sikhs is placed reverently. Also see the Community Kitchen where 10000 pilgrims are fed daily on voluntary and complementary basis. Visit the historic Jallianwala Bagh where Gen. Dyer's bullets killed scores of innocent Indians and the beautiful Ram Bagh Gardens. Evening visit the Wagah border (26 kms) It is the only border crossing between India and Pakistan. It's an interesting experience especially at sunset when the 'Retreat' ceremony takes place with the BSF on the Indian Side of the Border. The changing of the guards and the ceremonial lowering of the flags ceremony is carried out with great pomp. Overnight at the hotel. Day 12 Amritsar - Chandigarh (218 kms,. +/- 4.5 hours) Breakfast at the hotel.

A.m. drive to Chandigarh. On arrival check in at hotel. P.m. visits. Chandigarh was Designed by Le Corbusier, is the state capital of Punjab and Harayana states. The famous French architect. Half day tour includes visit to the Secretariat, High Court, State Library, Assembly Chambers, University, Botanical Garden and the beautiful lake. Asia's largest rose garden, Zakir Gulab Bagh, spread out over 30 acres of land, boasting of 50,000 rose-trees of 1600 different species!! Covering an area of 56 square kilometres, Chandigarh is the first `planned' city of India. The city has neatly laid out roads and parks, buildings ranging against mountain peaks, boulevards and streets lined by endless rows of trees and shrubs. The city is named after the Goddess Chandi Devi, whose white - domed temple stands on the slope of a hill in the north east of Chandigarh, on the edge of the Shivalik hills. Spread over an area of 114 sq. kms, it is a modern city, built in 47 sectors. Overnight at the hotel. Day 13 Chandigarh - Delhi Breakfast on board train. Transfer to railway station for train to Delhi. 2006 KALKA SHATABDI EXP CHANDIGARH 06:50 NEW DELHI 10:00 hrs (AC chair car) On arrival you will be met and transferred to hotel. P.m. visit New Delhi. Visit Qutub Minar built by Qutub-ud-Din Aibek in 1199, Humayun's Tomb, Bahai Temple, Lakshminarayan Temple - a modern Hindu Temple. India Gate (War Memorial Arch), also drive past President's House, Parliament House, Government Secretariat Buildings and Connaught Place shopping centre. Overnight at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel. Day 14 Depart Delhi Transfer to international airport for flight back home.
