2007 Horizon Award Recipient: Honorable Bryan Hughes, State House District 5 Honorable The Horizon Award is presented during our Celebration of Life to a Bryan Hughes rising star in the prolife movement. The Right to Life movement will succeed only if people from all professions, backgrounds, and walks of life take responsibility to spread the truth about human life. Texas Right to Life Horizon Award Recipients courageously defend the lives of the unborn, the weak, and the elderly in their various spheres of influence. Countless unsung heroes contribute to the prolife cause in various ways: through prayer, serving in public office, teaching, and financial support. The Horizon Award honors the extraordinary efforts of these unsung heroes. Horizon signifies that the recipient is standing with Texas Right to Life at the dawn of the new era in protecting the sanctity of life and is quickly becoming a bright star in the prolife movement. Texas Right to Life is proud to present the 2007 Horizon Award to State Representative Bryan Hughes, a friend and warrior for life.

Keynote Speaker: Eduardo Verastegui Eduardo is the star of the critically acclaimed and award winning, upcoming Pro-Life movie, “Bella.” “Bella” won the Peoples Choice Award at the 2006 Toronto Film Festival. Pro-abortion groups and secular leaders are very efficient in using popular Eduardo Verastegui media and entertainment outlets to ensnare our culture. “Bella” is a jewel that depicts a classic love story and marks a radical departure from the endless stream of Hollywood films that champion the pro-death agenda. The film was conceived by Eduardo, his producer, and his director out of a desire to create art more profound and edifying than the typical immoral offerings of Hollywood. Eduardo will share his personal transition from being a Mexican heartthrob and soap star to becoming an English speaking “American” actor promoting faith, family, and life through films.

Guest Emcee: Pat Gray Pat Gray is co-host of the morning talk show on AM 700. Pat began his radio career as a junior in high school and has since worked on the air in Salt Lake City, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Hartford, before joining KSEV, “The Voice” in Houston. Pat has won several awards for his broadcast talents, and he has used those Pat Gray talents and notoriety to raise funds for numerous charities and non-profits, including shelters for abused and battered women, Special Olympics, soup kitchens and food banks, and veterans’ organizations. Pat was born and raised in Helena, Montana. He and Jacque have been married for 25 years and have 6 children whom they have home-schooled since 1990.
