Conference Program

Deposition

Conference Topics The application of coatings has become extremely important for large-area and/or high-volume glass products. Besides flat glass, thin glass and polymer films are becoming more and more important as substrates for flexible, light weight or unbreakable optical and electronic applications. For this reason the conference highlights on the development and application of advanced coatings on both glass and plastics, using a broad and multidisciplinary approach. In 2014 the 10th ICCG is going to focus the sessions in three directions: Deposition, Processing and Applications. The related topics will cover all techniques necessary to realize a finally coated product. Also a variety of pre- and post treatment methods for substrates and coatings should be highlighted. New markets and trends are another focus of the conference. Finally, the 10th ICCG provides advanced information on different technologies at a general level for new product designers, as well as technical aspects, safety measures, and environmental and economic factors.

Topics & Preliminary Call for Papers The organizers of this biannual meeting invite coating scientists, technologist and managers to present papers for the conference.

Tourist Information Dresden offers attractions in great variety and combines three aspects which complement one another: notable art treasure, architectural sights and a charming landscape. Magnificent promenades on the bank of the Elbe, interesting museums and institutions, industrial monuments, charming details. A trip to Dresden is always a great experience. Granted, none of the seven wonders of the ancient world are to be found in Dresden. Back then, the river was probably still busy sculpting the natural features of the local sandstone. The wait was rewarded with a magnificent landscape, but in later times, the Elbe valley saw such a blossoming of architectural and artistic brilliance that the visitor today forgets to count and can only rub his eyes in wonder. The Church of Our Lady, Royal Palace, Zwinger, Semper Opera House, Elbe castles, Villa Quarter, Hellerau garden city or the award-winning modern buildings – not forgetting the ‘Blue Wonder’ bridge to the east of the city centre. It seems the likes of Augustus the Strong and his successors were not prepared to wait for nature to finish the job; with their skill, artistry and determination, they filled the Green Vault and Turkish Chamber with treasures from all over the world, collected paintings and porcelain, and were patrons of the great composers. No wonder then that Dresden today ranks as a world-class city of art and culture.

Travel Information The quickest way to get to the capital city of Saxony from many different places, whether for business or pleasure, is by plane. There are excellent non-stop flights between Dresden and airports in Germany, Switzerland, the UK and Russia. Dresden is accessible from all four corners of the world via the main hub airports. Dresden Airport is approximately 9 km north of the city centre. Dresden is an important railway junction and an integral part of the ICE and EC / IC networks. There are several services daily to all major German cities. Direct international connections include services to Aarhus, Budapest, Bratislava, Prague, Vienna and Zurich. Dresden can be reached directly on three motorways. The A 4 approaches the city from the West (CologneEisenach-Chemnitz), and the A 13 from the North (Rostock-Berlin). The A 17 links the Saxon capital with Prague. Location and Accommodation The convention center of MESSE DRESDEN is a location of trade for knowledge exchange, information and get together. As a part of the exhibition center the new building has received the individual name BÖRSE DRESDEN. The name of the building reminds of its original use a hundred years ago. As from now, congresses up to a size of 10,000 participants can be realized in the future. In particular, huge and international congresses and conventions, which can be combined with fairs in the exhibition halls, take place at BÖRSE DRESDEN.
