Södra Interiör’s own planing mills produce solid mouldings from our standard range but also produce customized according to your requirements. We are also providing a range of MDF products. We mostly work with pine and spruce but we also use birch, oak and larch etc. Many different dimensions and finishes are available to match your needs. Wide or narrow; dark or light; oiled or lacquered or unfinished. Our wide range of products gives you many options and saves you time, money and energy. Flooring
The minimum delivery unit at the listed price is one floor package.Södra Interiör massive pine floors are dried down to 8% (+/- 2%). The floor boards have slightly rounded corners for soft transitions between the boards. The floorboards are end-matched, which enables running installation and minimizes waste. Södra Interiör´s flooring is delivered in shrink-wrapped bundles in descending lengths. Each bundle can have up to 120 cm in length variation. Each bundle lists the running metres and the covered surface in square metres. Flooring must be stored in a dry area. Flooring of quality rustic is sold whenever available. Flooring length = covering length. Nordic: Mostly fine and fresh knots where some black or dark knots can occur. Classic: This is a mix of Nordic and Rustic. All types of knots can occur. Rustic: Fresh or black knots, knot holes and more may be found. Flooring

How much flooring should I buy? Use the calculations below to figure out how many metres you need for your floor, depending on the dimensions of the timber. Remember that it is always good to have some margin, so feel free to add a pair of running metres (rm) for safety.

About massive wooden floorING Södra Interior’s wooden floors for indoor use are delivered from Södra’s factories with a 8±2 % moisture ratio. The floors are available to buy either untreated or surface treated. Wood is a living material and will change as the humidity changes during the year. Wooden floors can therefore shrink or expand depending on moisture and temperature. When temperature and moisture return to normal values the floors return to their original shape. This is natural and is not a valid reason for a complaint. Faults based on changes in the natural condition of the timber due to relative humidity, sunlight, etc. are not valid causes for complaint since they are a consequence of natural changes in the timber. Pine is usually used in numerous Swedish floors ranging from bedrooms to kitchens. If there is too much wear and tear or if shoes are regularly used indoors, one should consider using a harder type of wood. Naturally can wishes about graining and colour make that the choice falls on one of our hardwood floors. Oak, ash and birch are the most common but in some cases there are also more exclusive types like maple and elm available. Even alder can be used for flooring but it is slightly softer than the other hardwoods and is therefore best suited for bedrooms, for example.
Underfloor heating Underfloor heating can be used in combination with wooden floors; there are four main types of underfloor heating systems: • Hydronic floor heating • Heated floor with low voltage • Electrical heating loops • Aluminum foil with electricity.
FLOORING
Things to consider before installing
For wooden floors in combination with underfloor heating, the hydronic heating system is recommended. Underfloor heating is only allowed if a maximal surface temperature of 27° can be guaranteed Higher temperatures can damage the floor. Pay attention when screwing the floor together so that the heating system is not damaged by the screws. Turn off the heat altogether and allow the joists or subfloor to get cold. Make sure that the joists or subfloor is dried down to approximately at least 10% moisture content before installation. The moisture ratio (=ratio of the weight of the water and dry weight of the wood) can be checked by the help of a moisture metre. A dense steam/moisture barrier is needed directly under the floor boards, which is important if the base surface is over a wet area. Please use a heating system that distributes heat over a large area, such as floor plate. With screws there is always a possibility of lifting the floor if problems arise with the underfloor heating. Never turn the floor heating off completely, even during summer time.

Storing and unpacking Allow the floor to be in the room it will be installed for a minimum of seven days depending on the time of year and the relative air humidity. Normal room temperature is 20° with a relative humidity (RH) of 40-60%. The flooring should be left in its original packaging. Spread the bundles out on the floor for an even acclimatization. Check that that the flooring holds Södra Interior’s promised moisture ratio of 8+-2%. You can check this easily with a moisture metre, which you can borrow from your building trade-store. Check each floor board carefully before installing them. Floor boards with visible damage and manufacturing faults should be put to one side. Deviations depending on invalid procedure, installation storage, surface finishing or comments on core colouring, graining or natural structure, are not considered as valid causes for complaint.

If you wish to varnish or paint your floor, then this must be done before installation. More information is available in the ”Surface Treatment” section. We do not encourage glueing a floating floor. Use a moisture barrier at the slightest risk of moisture in the subfloor and always when installing on concrete. Make sure that the base is smooth and put paper or equivalent on the joists closest to the wooden floors.

Any visible flaw in quality, moisture ratio, or other visible properties must be subject to a claim before installation. Therefore the boards should be examined closely and approved before installation. Any claim filed after installation that relates to faults that were or should have been identified before installation will not be taken into consideration since the flooring is considered to have been approved. The persons responsible for installing the flooring are considered to have approved the quality of the product and are therefore responsible for the final result. Wood is a living material and has natural deviations that cannot be classified as defects. Products subject to claim should be treated with the same care as prime product until the retailer has dealt with the claim. On surface-treated floors, the texture of knots and timber changes as the floorboards mature. This is a natural property of wood and is not a valid cause for complaint.

For surfaces treated with Osmo hardwax oil Follow these instructions and the hardwax oiled surface will remain durable, beautiful and easy to maintain!
A Sand away the damage/scratch with a fine grain sandpaper grit size 150.
B Re-treat the sanded surface with Osmo Hardwax oil or pigmented Osmo product of the kind that was used for the basic treatment. Apply a thin layer with a white scrub pad, Osmo brush or Osmo Easy Pad lint free cloth.

C Let it dry for around 12 hours (3032/362/3065), 4-6 hours (3232/3262) or around 24 hours (pigmented product).
D If the surface is percieved as dry or has pigmented, apply a thing layer of hardwax oil in accordance with b-c.
Regular cleaning Surfaces treated with Osmo Hardwax oil are easy to clean. Loose dirt should be vacuumed or dry mopped regularly.
Refreshing OSMO 3029 Maintenance Wax is used after moisture drying when it’s necessary to freshen up the hardwax oiled surface - 2 teaspoons is enough for around 1 m², use 0.5 litres to 35-50 m2. The can is shaken and the agent is applied very thinly on the dry clean surface with a microfiber mop or an Osmo Easy Pad lint free cloth.
Removal of difficult spots Difficult marks from shoes are easily removed with Osmo 3029 Maintenance Wax. The can is shaken and the agent is applied on a white scrub pad or an Osmo Easy Pad lint free cloth. The spot is rubbed and the dissolved dirt is wiped away. For easier maintenance and upkeep, Osmo 3029 Maintance Wax is also available in spray form. Point refurbishes - damage/scratches HIf the surface has sustained minor damage/scratching, a single clean and application of new hardwax is often enough. If that not is sufficient, do the following: 14
Maintenance Maintenance is carried out once a year, or more frequently in the case of heavily soiled, dull or worn surfaces.
B Clean the surface thoroughly with a microfiber mop. Use Osmo 8016 detergent mixed with water at a maximum ratio of 1:1, depending on the amount of dirt. Work with water sparingly.
C Let the surface dry for at least 30 minutes before carrying out further work. The surface must be completely dry.
D Shake the can vigourously and apply or spray Osmo 3029 Maintenance Wax on a small part of the surface.
Moisture drying (?) Moisture drying is easy with Osmo 8016 detergent. Dosage is 1 to 2 caps 8016 to 5 litre lukewarm water. When dealing with dirtier floors use instead 1 to 2 caps 8016 to 1 litre water instead. Use a slight damp mop. Surface should be dry after 1-2 minutes.
Maintenance Wax.
A Loose dirt is vacuumed or dry mopped.
General knowledge In an entrance hallway there should be a rug to collect as much as hard and wet dirt as possible. Apply water sparingly as wooden surfaces can be damaged, in particular so-called engineered flooring. If the main part of the surface is so heavily worn that treatment with Osmo 3029 Maintenance Wax is not sufficient, more frequent maintenance is required.
E If necessary, refresh the entire surface with Osmo 3029
E Apply the agent in a thin layer and work it into the surface by hand with a micro fiber mop.
F Wipe/smooth out any eventual excess with Osmo Easy Pad lint free cloth. G When the surface has dried for about 2 hours it is ready to be used. REGULAR maintenance It is important that the surface is
completely clean before application of new hardwax oil, because any leftovers of OSMO 3029 maintenance wax can give it a milky appearance. Regular maintenance should always be carried out by repeating points a-c above in the “MAINTENANCE” section above. If the damaged surface is pigmented, the damage must be point refurbished before final treatment.
A Apply a very thin layer of Osmo Hardwax of the type that was used during the initial treatment with an Osmo brush or an Osmo micro- fiber roller.

ConsumptIon 1 litre covers approx. 24 m² for 1 application or 12m² at 2 applications.
DryIng tIme 8-12 hours under normal weather conditions, 20°c and rH 50%. at lower temperatures and/or high humidity the drying time extends significantly. tools Floor: osmo Brush, osmo microfiber roller 250 mm 1. preparatIon the surface must be clean and dry (max 20% moisture ratio). clean and lightly sand away any previous micro porous coating that might be present and remove old varnish or similar (with osmo 6000 Paint remover or by grinding). We normally recommend using grit 120-150 (floor) as the final sandpaper, depending on the type of wood. as a final sandpaper it’s normally recommended using grit 120-150 (floor) depending on type of wood. Subsequently, before starting treatment, the surface should be cleaned of dust. Minor scratches and holes can be repaired with osmo Putty. the product is ready to use, is not diluted, and should be stirred thoroughly. note that the final result is always affected by the wood’s natural colour and sanding. always do a test treatment on a smaller area, to ensure the finish, drying, odor, etc. so that the desired result can be achieved, before the entire surface is treated. If necessary prolong the drying time between applications.

When the damaged surface has dried, do regular cleaning maintenance over the entire surface. osmo CleanIng soap For an extra finish and resistance against spots, osmo cleaning soap is the most effective. you can also use it on other types of floors with good results.

Södra Interiör wood panelling for indoor use has a moisture ratio of between 12 and 18%. The panelling is available for purchase either untreated or treated with a white natural wax.

Wood is a living material that changes with the level of humidity throughout the year. As a result, the panelling may shrink/swell and bend slightly but will essentially return to its original dimensions as the level of humidity changes. This is natural and does not constitute a cause for complaint. A defect based on the natural characteristics of the wood such as a change due to the relative humidity, sunlight, etc., does not constitute a cause for complaint and is simply a natural occurrence in the wood.
Panel clips Södra Interiör panel clips allow you to fit the panel boards to nail and screw heads invisibly. Choose between nail clips or the stronger screw clips. Södra Interiör panel clips means there´s no risk of damaging the panels with your hammer!

Storage and unpacking Place the panelling in the room where it is to be installed. Leave the panelling to acclimatize for a minimum of 7 days depending on the time of year and the relative humidity. Normal room temperature is usually 20 degrees Celsius with a relative humidity (R.H.) of 40-60%. Keep the panelling in its original packaging. Spread the different lots of packaging across the floor to allow for an even acclimatization. Check each panel board carefully before mounting. Visibly damaged or defective panel boards should be set aside and not used. Deviations as a result of incorrect handling, assembly, storage or surface treatment as well as remarks on the core colouring, graining and natural characteristics of the wood are not deemed a consumer complaint.

Surface treatment and assembly Open and assemble one package at a time. Nail, screw or fix the panel boards onto the underlying framework using the Södra Interiör panel clips. We recommend use of 2.2x45 mm brad nails. Do not knock in the nails with a hammer. Use a drift tool or a nail gun. Panel boards without tongue and groove end panels are joined using wood girders. Panel boards with tongue and groove end panels are joined one after the other by applying a small line of wood adhesive on the ends of each panel board. All joints should be displaced by 600mm. Make sure to comply with current building regulations. Panelling can be fixed onto a variety of surfaces. Nailing the panel boards straight onto a wooden framework is generally straightforward but we recommend using a batten. if the panel boards are to be fixed on to a concrete or plaster surface, for example. Any treatment of the panel

boards must take place prior to installation. There are a number of products available to purchase should you wish to treat the surfaces of the panel boards yourself, which must be done prior to installation. In this way, you avoid the appearance of untreated gaps if the panel boards shrink. You also avoid the risk of the panel boards getting glued together. This in turn can lead to the wall panelling breaking apart because of changes in humidity throughout the year.

Any complaints made subsequent to installation of the panelling or any defects noticed or that ought to have been noticed prior to installation are deemed accepted and will not be given further consideration. Once installation of the panelling begins, the person responsible for the installation work is deemed to have accepted the quality of the panel boards and hence, is ultimately responsible for the final result. Wood is a living material with natural variations that should not be perceived as defects. A product with a reported defect must be handled with the same care and attention as a faultless product until the relevant retailer has fully dealt with the complaint in question. Knots and wood structures may eventually appear on surface treated panel boards as they begin to mature. Such characteristics are inherit in wood and are not considered a cause for complaint. Untreated panel boards may also mature/yellow over time.

Worth knowing about our moUldings - Do you like oak? We have mouldings and baseboards both in oak veneer, massive oak and oak glaze.
- We offer complete, plain architraves sets for one or two door panels that are simple and easy to assemble.
- Linings and baseboard in Pine are also available in primed versions, if you prefer to paint them.
- Do you have a floor construction with a mechanical exhaust? Then use our smart ventilated skirting that releases the air under the floor.
- We have a special wood flooring strip, which has been designed to effectively seal the gap between the wooden floor and the wall and is therefore wider at the bottom. 40

Décor blocks function as pleasant details at endings and transitions with mouldings and architraves. The make installation easier as they remove the need for mitring. Decor blocks are made from and are available untreated and painted white. Décor blocks are sold two to a package. Inner corner block flooring

You can glue, nail or screw these blocks into position. Use a contact adhesive if you decide to glue them. If you´re using nails, centre drill to start off and then nail into position using a brad. Countersink the heads of the nails using a punch. If possible, nail so that the heads of the nails are concealed by adjacent moulding. Outer corner blocks can be tricky to attach using just glue. Ideally, centre drill to start off with and attach right into the corner of the wall using a brad. When nailing lining blocks and base blocks, select a groove in the profile
