FAQs 1. Can I register as an individual and join my friends as a group for StockWhiz? No, you cannot simultaneously register both as an individual and as a member of a group for StockWhiz. Every individual can only join StockWhiz once, either as individual or as a member of a group. 2. Are there any fees for registering in StockWhiz? No, it is free for all to register. Upon successful registration, you will be granted S$100,000 as virtual cash in your StockWhiz portfolio. With effect from 1 November 2012, all participants will be given a separate wallet of S$20,000 virtual cash to participate in the Structured Warrants game.

3. Can I join StockWhiz if I am a foreigner? Yes, StockWhiz is an online investment competition which is open to all interested participants. For non-resident foreigners, simply input your nationality and passport number for registration. 4. I can’t login with my ID and password, what should I do? Please send your username to [email protected] 5. If I forget my password, what should I do? Please click the “Forgot password” link from www.sgxstockwhiz.com 6. How can I change my account details? Once you have successfully registered, you cannot change your username. You may update and change other details by clicking Edit details after login. 7. How would I be notified for updates on StockWhiz? All notifications and updates on StockWhiz, if any, will be communicated to you via your registered email address. 8. What are the trading hours? Trading hours are from Mondays to Fridays, 9am to 5pm, except Singapore public holidays. If trades are made after 5.05pm and hit the live pre-trading price before 8.59am on the next trading day, the trades will be executed. However, if the price is not hit anytime on the next trading day, the order will be discarded. 9. What investment instruments are included in StockWhiz? Selected stocks and all Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) are included in the main StockWhiz. Click here to download the full list.

StockWhiz – FAQs Structured Warrants will be included from 1 November 2012. All Structured Warrants, except those with offer price of less than S$0.01 as at close of 31 October, will be included in the Structured Warrants game.

10. Does StockWhiz include corporate actions? Yes, it includes dividends, rights and offers. Should the dividends be in the form of stocks which are not part of StockWhiz, entitled participants will be adjusted for the cash equivalent of the underlying stocks. In the case of Structured Warrants, regular ‘ordinary’ dividends are factored into the price of the warrant by the issuer/market-maker; for other corporate actions such as special dividends, rights and offers, the issuer/market-market-maker may adjust the terms of warrant such as the conversion ratio or exercise price to maintain the warrant value and not disadvantage the warrant-holder. 11. How frequent is the chart data updated? Chart data is updated every minute, with a snapshot capturing data as of the previous minute. 12. Are the prices for stock/ETF/Structured Warrant up-to-date? The stock/ETF/Structured Warrant last, bid and ask prices are based on real time data from Thomson Reuters. 13. When is the expiry and last trading day of a warrant? The expiry date of a warrant is indicated in the last six digits of its trading name in YYMMDD. The last trading day of a structured warrant is different from its expiry day and is the 5th business days before its expiry date. For example, if the expiry date of the warrant is 29 November 2012, the last trading date is 22 November 2012. 14. What will happen if the Structured Warrant I am holding expires? At expiry, the issuer will announce the cash settlement amount. If the warrant expire in-the-money, this amount will be credited into your cash holdings. There will not be any cash settlement amount if the warrant expire out-of-money or at-money. 15. How do I put in my transaction? When you find the price is within your ideal transacted price range, you can submit a limit price order transaction. The transaction will be executed based on bid or ask prices after you submit your transaction, i.e. if your submitted price is within the current bid/ask price range, StockWhiz will proceed your transaction. 16. How can I confirm whether my order has been made successfully? After a successful order/transaction, payment will be automatically deducted from your account and you will be able to view your holdings against the current market value under Assets or asset table under Dashboard.

If your transaction is made during trading hours (9am to 5pm) and your order price has not been hit, your order will not be brought forward to next business day. If your transaction is made after trading hours, your order will be brought forward to the next business day. Your transaction will be executed if your order price is being hit during pre-trading or during trading hours. 18. How can I make a short-sell transaction? What is the limitation? You can make a short-sell transaction for stocks/ETFs by choosing Short Sell in Order as long as you have sufficient virtual cash amount for short selling. The short sell virtual cash amount will be held in the portfolio. If the stock appreciates in value by more than 90%, the short position will be liquidated automatically to cap the maximum loss. Total Loss of Short Selling: $27,000 + service charges 19. What happens if I short something and am unable to buy it back afterwards? Technically this scenario will not happen, as StockWhiz will automatically liquidate your short-selling holdings once your stock/ETF has appreciated to more than 90% of the short-sell price.

20. What minimum system requirements do I need to participate in StockWhiz? The minimum System Requirements for StockWhiz are:

How can I customize my Screener for stocks, ETFs and Structured Warrants? There is a “Preset” screener option that you can use to customize your Stock and ETF Screener. For Structured Warrants, you are able to narrow your search through the various selections available in the screener. 22. Is there any way I can get additional bonus virtual cash during the game? Yes, you can get additional S$2,000 by referring 3 friends to StockWhiz upon registration. S$2,000 will be credited to your account once your friends have been registered successfully. In additional, you can get S$2,000 by playing ‘Myth vs Fact’ until 18 October and gain S$1,000 in your Structured Warrants wallet by playing ‘Myth vs Fact – Structured Warrants edition’ from 19 October till 27 November in SGX/My Gateway facebook. 23. Will StockWhiz allow me to have a negative portfolio amount? No, StockWhiz does not allow negative portfolio amounts. 24. Does StockWhiz end for me when I run out of virtual cash? Yes, StockWhiz will end for you when you run out of virtual cash unless your negative cash is arising from adjustments highlighted in the Bulletin. 25. Will StockWhiz declare me bankrupt at any time? If your portfolio account balance has come to a negative value, you are only allowed to liquidate your current holdings. You will not be allowed to buy any stocks. 26. Can I buy virtual cash? No 27. What are the prizes for winners of StockWhiz? Please refer to “Prizes” for a breakdown of the different prize categories and awards. There is a wide range of awards to be won for different investment strategies and portfolios in the main StockWhiz game. The prizes are stated in the approximate value of the Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) based on the minimum board lot size of each ETF. These ETFs have been pre-allocated across the different prize categories and are non-exchangeable and non-transferable. There are also cash prizes to be won for Structured Warrants game which starts on 1 November 2012. 28. Am I eligible to win more than one prize in StockWhiz?

StockWhiz – FAQs Participants are able to win in both StockWhiz and Structured Warrants games as the two games are assessed separately. However, participants are eligible to only win one monthly prize and/or one overall prize in the main StockWhiz at the end of the competition. For monthly prizes, eligibility is based on the realized gain of the respective month and is not cumulative. 29. What are the ETFs I may expect to receive? How do winners receive their prizes? All winners are required to have a CDP and broker account. The ETF units will be credited to your CDP account. You may choose to transact these ETF units through your broker account. 32. Can winners of StockWhiz en-cash the ETF units received? Yes, you may choose to sell the ETF units through your broker account. Please note that the transactions are subjected to brokerage fees payable.
