Deposit a Check using the Mobile App (iPhone is shown, Android is similar) The process of depositing a check is very simple. 1. Log onto the mobile or iPad app and touch the Deposits button.

2. When you touch the Deposits button you will be taken to the Deposits screen.
3. For a new deposit, touch the New Deposit button and you will be taken to the New Deposit screen.

4. At the New Deposits screen, select which account the check will be deposited to, enter the amount of the check, and touch Continue.

a. Note that because the iPhone App can only be connected to one account, checks can only be deposited to suffixes of that account. If you would like to deposit to a cross account you will have to deposit to the account that is tied to the mobile device and then transfer the money using PrivatePC. b. The iPad App is not tied to an account. If you have access to multiple accounts, you will be able to make deposits to all of those accounts.

5. After touching Continue, you will be taken to the Capture Front screen. You must get the four corners of the check inside the gray lines on the screen. (Unlike the first example below.)

When you have the check centered in the box and in focus, touch the camera button to take the picture. You will then be taken to the Preview Front screen. 6. If the image is clear and all four corners of the check are visible, touch the Use Photo button.
This will work. (All the corners are in the box.) Note that the image should be in focus. If not, you can touch the Retake button to take another picture. If the Use Photo button is touched you will be taken to the Capture Back screen. 7. The process is the same as for the front of the check, except the app will look for what the vendor calls “Natural Ink,” meaning a handwritten signature. The squiggle you see here will work. However, a Stamp will not.
8. After taking the picture, you will be taken to the Preview Back screen where you can use the photo or retake it. If you touch the Use Photo button, you will be taken to the Confirm screen.

9. You must touch Yes to confirm the deposit and the module closes out.

View Deposit History From the Deposits screen you can view the deposit history by touching the View Deposit History button.
1. Under Deposit History you can view all deposits or by view by status. There are three statuses: Pending, Failed and Accepted. a. Pending deposits have been successfully transmitted to the system and are awaiting approval. This will normally be two business days. b. Failed deposits have been turned away. You will receive an email detailing the reason.

c. Accepted Deposits have been accepted by the system and processed. The funds should be available.

Deposit a Check using the iPad App When using the iPad App the process is similar to the Mobile App, but there are some differences. The iPad App is not tied to an account, so if you have multiple accounts you can log onto any of them at any time.

3. Select the account and enter the amount of the check as shown below:

4. To take a photo of the front of the check, touch the Take Photo button under Check Front. 5. As with the Mobile app, all four corners of the check need to be in the photo.

6. Next, touch Use and view the Deposits screen.

Notice that the photo of the check can be seen and the ügreen checkmark is present in the “You still need to provide” box. 7. Next, you will take a photo of the back of the check. Touch Take Photo under Check Back to photograph the back of the check.
8. If the image is clear and contains all four corners of the check, touch Use to accept the image.

9. When both sides of the check have been photographed, touch Deposit Now to deposit the check.

Helpful Tips Here are some things you should know: ü The App needs to be able to find the four corners of the check. To photograph it, it should be on a flat surface that has a contrasting color. (Placing a mostly white check on a white counter probably won’t work, and holding it in one hand while shooting it with the other like they do in the commercials definitely won’t work.) ü The check must be endorsed by hand. If you use a “For Deposit Only” stamp, it does not work. ü There are limits on the amounts per transaction and total amounts per day.
