Celebrity’s Hawaii and Pacific Islands

Celebrity’sHawaii & Pacific Islands

Islands of bliss and a voyage of discovery. These islands were born of volcanic fire, sculpted by wind and water, and warmed by an inviting spirit known as aloha in Hawaii, ngãkau aroa in the Cook Islands, and whãnu by the Maoris — a hospitality you’ll feel as you navigate through the Pacific on a Celebrity cruise. We’ll bring you close to Mount Kilauea, so you can see how it makes the formation of Hawaii’s Big Island an ongoing saga. We’ll introduce you to the serenity of the rain forest near Rarotonga and the spectacular underwater abundance of fish in the lagoons off Bora Bora. And we’ll help you experience the embrace of island life at every stop along the way. A Hawaiian Paradise A Hawaiian cruise offers a wealth of possibilities. A stop on the bustling island of Oahu takes you through

cosmopolitan Honolulu, a city built on a foundation of traditions and cultural influences from nearly every

country in Asia. Within the city limits you’ll find breathtaking beaches, like Waikiki, as well as the Diamond Head Volcano, whose iconic silhouette dominates the skyline. The dormant Haleakala Volcano on Maui rises 10,000 feet to the heavens, and its peak is frequently blanketed in snow. On its slopes, the rich volcanic soils host huge plantations growing coffee, pineapples, sugarcane, and taro, a staple of the local diet. And then there is the simmering Big Island, a study in stark contrasts. In a single day you can watch as the steady breezes and rolling waves create the perfect playground for kite surfers and sailboarders; venture inland at Hilo to explore Rainbow Falls, the island’s most spectacular cascade; or get a sense of this world’s first chapters in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, as you tread across a barren lava landscape that still radiates the warmth it brought forth from the earth’s molten core. Many Islands, Many Faces Venture from Hawaii out into the Pacific and the rewards of your voyage defy easy description. In Papeete, Tahiti, you can experience the bliss of

South Seas serenity, or shop for exotic bargains in the Marché Papeete, the capital’s bustling marketplace. In Moorea, float in the emerald lagoons that slowly give way to the azure waters of the Pacific, or climb Mt. Rotui, an endeavor that will reward you with spectacular views of Opunohu Bay. In Kiribati, you’ll be amazed by the profusion of wildlife, as well as stone ruins that date back to the 15th century. And on Rarotonga, relax to the island’s laid-back cadence, or go shopping using one of the world’s only $3 bills. EXPERIENCES OF A LIFETIME Get the most out of your Hawaiian and Pacific Islands vacation, both on land and sea, with informative shore excursions. See our ports of call on pages 21-23 for details. We suggest that you book your shore excursions early. To view all shore excursion offerings and pricing, visit celebritycruises.com/shoreex. With one staff member for every two guests, it’s no wonder Celebrity delivers attentive service, offering such treats as complimentary chilled towels upon returning from your shore excursions. So go ahead and enjoy your Hawaii and Pacific Islands voyage and shore excursions to the fullest. We’re ready to serve you every step of the way.

Hawaii and Pacific Islands

Kauai

Following in the wake of legendary explorers like James Cook, Celebrity’s voyages of discovery will give you the chance to fully absorb the serene beauty of these island outposts — beyond the tranquil beaches and into the intricacies of island life. Because of the distances involved, you’ll also have ample time at sea to become acquainted with the many amenities of your ship and the attentive staff who will see to your needs. There truly is no more enchanting place than these Pacific Islands and no better way to experience them than Celebrity Cruises®. Hawaii & Pacific Islands Shore Excursions

Life begins beyond the beach. The fact that each of these islands is encircled by the majestic waters of the Pacific makes beach activities an inviting part of any cruise vacation. But don’t let the hypnotic waters keep you tethered to the sand. Spend a moment standing in hushed, respectful silence at Pearl Harbor as you pay tribute to the sailors of the USS Arizona who lost their lives on that infamous morning in 1941. Take a shore excursion from Hilo to Akaka Falls, watching the waters plunge a dramatic 400 feet toward the ocean. Venture out to sea from Papeete and try to hook a combative game fish, like mahi-mahi or marlin, or observe migrating humpback whales off the Maui coast. There is virtually no limit to the breadth and depth of what awaits you here. • Peer into a Volcanic Crater (Maui)

• Snorkeling (Moorea)

• Musée Gauguin (Tahiti)

• Attend a Luau (Oahu)

• Rainforest Tours (The island of Hawaii)

• Polynesian Cultural Center (Oahu)

EXPERIENCES OF A LIFETIME We suggest booking your shore excursions early. To view all shore excursion offerings and pricing, visit celebritycruises.com/shoreex.

Auckland, New Zealand The “City of Sails,” known for its sparkling waters, bustling harbor, and cosmopolitan flair, is an ideal spot for water sports and sailing. A total of 48 dormant volcanoes are situated within Auckland, making it a lush, leafy city that’s perhaps best viewed from the 360-degree observation platform atop the 1,076 ft. Sky Tower. At ground level, visit the city’s renowned art galleries and stroll through the beautiful, expansive parks. SHORE EXCURSIONS INCLUDE: Auckland City, Harbour Highlights & Airport Drop-Off (Offered on Day of Disembarkation)

Bay of Islands, New Zealand

Bora Bora, French Polynesia

Surrounded by beaches considered some of the best in the world, with perfect white sand and crystal-clear water, Bay of Islands is home to the Waitangi National Reserve and known as the Birthplace of a Nation. Many consider this the ideal place to try out an active pastime or two, such as kayaking, sailing, and swimming with dolphins. Or, if beach relaxation is what you’re after, pull up a lounge chair and soak in the surroundings.

With white-sand beaches and valleys covered in hibiscus blossoms, Bora Bora offers the ultimate in island relaxation and active water pursuits. Its colorful coral reef and lagoon are home to thousands of tropical fish, while its land-based shops offer some of the world’s best black pearls and locally made pareus and straw hats. Its signature landmark is tombstone-shaped Mount Otemanu, which towers over the island at 2,379 feet.

Ensenada, Mexico The Riviera Pacifica, with the Bar of the Seven Sins, boasts a colorful past as the former playgrounds of California gentry and movie stars. Festive shops and a former prison that now serves as an Aztec museum are just a few highlights of this Baja Peninsula favorite.

Discovered by Captain Cook in 1777, this tiny atoll was largely ignored by the rest of the world for 100 years, with the first permanent settlement established in 1882. Today, this untouched paradise remains uncrowded and unhurried. The most populated areas of the island are the bird sanctuary and the lagoons, known by anglers worldwide for the exceptional bonefishing.

Located on the lush coast of the Big Island, Hilo is home to two of the most spectacular waterfalls in all of creation: Rainbow Falls in the south and the mammoth Akaka Falls in the north. Hilo is also home to Volcanoes National Park and the imposing Kilauea Volcano. Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

Cosmopolitan Honolulu offers hundreds of attractions and points of interest for the ambitious sightseer. From Pearl Harbor to Iolani Palace (one of the only royal palaces on American soil), you’ll enjoy exploring this city, which seems to rise up out of the lush Hawaiian flora.

This imaginary line, which runs roughly parallel to the 180° longitudinal line, represents where each day begins and ends. As you travel east you’ll subtract 24 hours from your current time, and you will add 24 hours as you travel west across it. The need for such a line was first discovered by Magellan in the early 16th century and the fact that one could either gain or lose a day caused much excitement at the time, so much so that navigators were summoned by the Pope to explain the phenomenon.

This was once the seat of power from which the great King Kamehameha ruled his island empire. Located on the picturesque Kona Coast, where some of the world’s best coffee is harvested, Kailua-Kona is close to the marine sanctuary of Kealakekua Bay. This snorkeling haven is also home to the Captain Cook Monument.

Kauai (Nawiliwili), Hawaii

Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii

Although one of the smallest of the Hawaiian islands, Kauai is a paradise of large proportions. Along the Lihue Kalapaki coast, you can visit Wailua Falls, which served as the backdrop of the old television series Fantasy Island. This paradise, with its miles of beaches and attractions such as the Fern Grotto, will fulfill your own fantasies of what a perfect vacation spot should be.

The most prominent feature of Maui is Haleakala, the world’s largest dormant volcano. And from the historic town of Lahaina, you might also witness of one nature’s greatest spectacles: the annual migration of humpback whales returning to their winter feeding grounds, which takes place between December and March.

Moorea is a unique volcanic island surrounded by languid lagoons and both white- and black-sand beaches. Often associated with James Michener’s imaginary island of Bali Hai, Moorea is the epitome of paradise. View tapa-cloth-making and other traditional French Polynesian handicrafts at the Tiki Village Theatre, built to resemble ancient villages that once graced the islands. SHORE EXCURSIONS INCLUDE: Lagoon Discovery with Snorkeling, Circle Island Tour & Belevedere

Mount Kilauea, Hawaii (Scenic Cruising)

The Big Island has grown over 500 acres, thanks to the active nature of Mount Kilauea, Hawaii’s youngest volcano. This molten masterpiece also happens to be one of the world’s most active and likes to show off when the sun goes down. You’ll have a front-row seat to this nighttime spectacle, watching as the fiery lava flows blaze down the mountainside as your cruise ship glides by. You’ll never think of fireworks the same way again.

Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia The capital city of French Polynesia’s largest island, Papeete is a hot spot noted for chic shopping and the cultural beauty that inspired artist Paul Gauguin. You can view works that recapture his life in French Polynesia at Musée Gauguin and perhaps even find colorful pareus — like the ones worn by his beautiful models in his impressionistic masterpieces — at the busy Marché Municipale.

Rarotonga, Cook Islands The vibrant capital of the Cook Islands is marked by a dense tropical rainforest that surrounds the volcanic pinnacle Te Rua Manga (“the needle”) and deep lagoons filled with black pearls. Snorkeling, shopping, and sightseeing opportunities abound here. And several jewelry shops specializing in black pearls just may tempt you to bring home a dazzling orb of paradise. San Diego, California

Tauranga, New Zealand

Originally settled by a contingent of Franciscan friars in the mid-18th century, San Diego has flourished to become one of America’s largest and most attractive cities. Bordered by the Anza-Borrego Desert, the Laguna Mountains, and the Pacific Ocean, it’s blessed with a year-round Mediterranean climate, which only adds to the attraction of its 70 miles of beaches.

Tauranga is located at the entrance to one of the largest natural harbors in New Zealand and is nestled beside magnificent Mount Maunganui. Water activities are the highlight here for locals and visitors alike, with such perennial favorites as a ride on a jet boat, white-water rafting the Rangitaiki River, or just relaxing on the beach. As for encounters with the local scene on land, the Elms Mission House offers a close look at colonial architecture.

SHORE EXCURSIONS INCLUDE: San Diego and La Jolla Highlights with Airport Drop-Off (Offered on Day of Disembarkation)

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada The largest metropolitan center in western Canada and the country’s third largest city, Vancouver is the Canadian jewel of Puget Sound. From the cobblestone streets of the Gastown District to Little Italy and Chinatown, Vancouver offers a truly international flavor as well as a delightful combination of the old and new.

SHORE EXCURSIONS INCLUDE: Bush Jet Boat & Kiwifruit Farm, Rangitaiki Water Rafting

Celebrity’s Australia and New Zealand

Celebrity’s Australia & New Zealand

Down under, above and beyond. Tucked into their own corner of the world, Australia and New Zealand have cultivated their own identities. Their European beginnings can be found everywhere, but those origins are seasoned by unmistakable Aboriginal and Maori roots, giving life an exotic timbre. A Celebrity cruise or cruisetour can help you discover every nuance. You’ll find a surprisingly international vibe in Melbourne, with traditional Australian culture generously flavored by its Chinese, Italian, and Greek ethnic enclaves, making life here an enchanting melting pot. See wildlife at its most abundant on the Great Barrier Reef or at its most eclectic in New Zealand. Only Celebrity Cruises® can introduce you to everything that makes this place a world unto itself. We’ll show you why “g’day” isn’t just a salutation, it’s a preview of what awaits. Spectacular Redefined Australia and New Zealand are filled with icons — both natural and manmade. The Sydney Opera House, the

world’s most recognizable venue, rules the Australian skyline. Further south in New Zealand’s Bay of Plenty,

Traditional wood carvings in Tauranga, New Zealand; a curious koala enjoys a little lunch from a eucalyptus tree; the Sydney Opera House; Australian Aborigine playing the didgeridoo.

the active Volcanic White Island creates its own visual impact, while the fjords of Dusky Sound can be found eerily cloaked in morning mists, fed by rivers that tumble over the soaring cliffs. You may get a look at exotic native marine species in New Zealand’s National Aquarium in Napier, or watch local surfers ride the waves in Newcastle, Australia, as you soak in the scene from the comfort of the Ocean Baths. As we enter Doubtful Sound, watch for fur seals and bottlenose dolphins playing in the waters, or gaze in wonder at the nightly Penguin Parade on Australia’s Summerland Beach. Get into Australia While the portion of the Australian coast we visit by ship represents untold visual riches, if you were to limit your Australian exploration solely to these shores you would only be hearing a tiny portion of the story. The interior is a vast place with points of interest so remote that many are accessible only by aircraft. Our fully escorted Australian cruisetours have been created to seamlessly dovetail with our

cruise vacations, creating the kind of seamless, comprehensive experience that only Celebrity Cruises can deliver. From the mythical Ayers Rock to the Great Barrier Reef, we’ll show you parts of this country that even some Australians have never seen. And through it all you’ll be accompanied by a knowledgeable Tour Director, whose intimate familiarity with all things Australian will paint a vividly detailed picture of this amazing place.

EXPERIENCES OF A LIFETIME Get the most out of your Australia and New Zealand vacation, both on land and sea, with great cruisetour packages. Akaroa, New Zealand

Auckland, New Zealand

While both the British and French have at one time vied for ownership of this spectacular South Island outpost, the harbor has a far more tumultuous origin. It was actually formed by the eruption of two volcanoes, which left a massive crater that connects to the sea. Although the scenery is pure New Zealand, much of the architecture retains its French inflection.

The “City of Sails,” known for its sparkling waters, bustling harbor, and cosmopolitan flair, is an ideal spot for water sports and sailing.

Christchurch, New Zealand New Zealand’s “Garden City” features many parks as well as Victorian architecture, avenues, and squares. Situated within 459-acre Hagley Park, the 57-acre Christchurch Botanic Gardens features some of New Zealand’s oldest trees, while at the center of town is Christchurch Cathedral, a stunning example of Gothic Revival architecture. SHORE EXCURSIONS INCLUDE: Christchurch & Countryside, Orana Wildlife Park & Scenic Gondola Ride

Ports of Call

Doubtful Sound, New Zealand (Scenic Cruising)

Doubtful Sound is unusual in that it has two distinct layers of water: fresh mountain water atop cold, heavy saline water, teeming with remarkable deep-sea species. Keep your eyes peeled for bottlenose dolphins, fur seals and two types of penguins — the Fiordland crested and blue. This scenic sound in Fiordland National Park is one of three featured on itineraries.

Dunedin, New Zealand With dramatic scenery and some of the finest historic buildings in New Zealand, Dunedin proudly displays its Scottish roots. In fact, it’s a great place to shop for kilts and haggis. The city is also home to New Zealand’s only castle, a 15-year construction endeavor complete with the only staircase of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and magnificent woodwork. SHORE EXCURSIONS INCLUDE: Dunedin Highlights, Dunedin City Heritage Tour

Dusky Sound, New Zealand (Scenic Cruising)

The largest and most complex of the many fjords along this coast, Dusky Sound boasts steep cliffs and hundreds of cascading waterfalls. Direct your attention toward the water, where you may spot seals and dolphins, and to the sky, where broad-billed prions, mottled petrels, and sooty shearwaters may fly into view. This amazing sound is one of three featured on itineraries.

Hobart, Tasmania

Melbourne, Australia

A riverside city replete with Georgian charm, Hobart features a thriving arts scene, a gorgeous mountain backdrop, and a busy harbor where yachts from all over the world congregate. It’s also the gateway to a world-class chocolate factory, Cadbury, and home to the Cascade Brewery, producing one of the finest beers in New Zealand. To learn more about the island’s Aboriginal heritage, a visit to the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery is worth making.

The state capital of Victoria and Australia’s second-largest city, Melbourne is a cultural melting pot of Greek, Chinese, Italian, English, and Irish, and host to major international events. You’ll discover a decidedly European influence here, complete with oldworld architecture and a cricket field at the center of the city. The Melbourne Zoo is a great place to encounter Australia’s abundance of unusual animals.

SHORE EXCURSIONS INCLUDE: Tasmanian Tasting Journey by 4WD, Hobart Walking Tour & Panoramic Tour

SHORE EXCURSIONS INCLUDE: Platypus, Kangaroos, & Koalas in Healesville Sanctuary, Heritage Traincar Tea

Milford Sound, New Zealand (Scenic Cruising)

Situated within Fiordland National Park, Milford Sound is part of the Te Wahipounamu World Heritage Site and is surrounded by sheer rock faces and lush forests. As our ship cruises through the narrow fjord, you may feel as if we are shrinking in size in comparison to the towering cliffs and mountains. This protected sound is one of three featured on itineraries.

Ports of Call

Napier, New Zealand

Newcastle, Australia

Phillip Island, Australia

There’s really only one word to describe this city: pretty. Napier’s elegant art deco architecture, captivating beaches, and award-winning vineyards provide an appealing backdrop as you take in the sights. The National Aquarium of New Zealand, shaped like a stingray, features piranhas and crocodiles, as well as several other safer species in hands-on exhibits.

While Newcastle is a significant coalshipping center, you’ll likely focus more on its surf-worthy beaches and recreational pools, filled regularly with ocean saltwater. These historic Ocean Baths are located along the beach and are built with an art deco flair. Soak in the pools, take a relaxing swim, or venture into Hunter Valley to view stunning vineyards and taste fine varietals.

Few animals personify the Australian bush like the koala. Aside from a plethora of natural wonders like the Penguin Parade and the rugged offshore rock formations known locally as the “Nobbies,” Phillip Island is home to a huge koala preserve, where you can walk along an elevated boardwalk through the trees to get up close to these cuddly creatures.

SHORE EXCURSIONS INCLUDE: Napier Art Deco Highlights, Hawkes Bay Town & Country

SHORE EXCURSIONS INCLUDE: Beach Duning Adventure, A Taste of Hunter Valley

Sydney, Australia

Tauranga, New Zealand

Among the world’s most exciting cities, Sydney is home to dazzling beaches and the Sydney Opera House — an architectural marvel and one of the most recognizable performing arts venues in the world. For spectacular views of Sydney Harbour, take a walk across the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Or for great views in the water, stroll through the Sydney Aquarium’s underwater walkways.

Tauranga is located at the entrance to one of the largest natural harbors in New Zealand and nestled beside magnificent Mount Maunganui.

SHORE EXCURSIONS INCLUDE: Sydney Sights, Opera House & Bondi Beach, Sydney Bridgeclimb and The Rocks

SHORE EXCURSIONS INCLUDE: Bush Jet Boat & Kiwifruit Farm, Rangitaiki Water Rafting

Volcanic White Island, New Zealand (Scenic Cruising)

Brace yourself for one of the most spectacular sights imaginable — one that can only be experienced from the air or water. As you cruise the Bay of Plenty, you’ll be greeted by New Zealand’s largest and most active volcano, stretching majestically from sea to sky. White Island, so named by Captain Cook after witnessing it shrouded in steam, is a private scenic reserve that is continually monitored by scientists due to its active nature. You, on the other hand, won’t be able to peel your eyes away from it due to its natural beauty.

Wellington, New Zealand The cosmopolitan capital of New Zealand is also one of the country’s most stunning cities. This hilly harbor town features a plethora of spots to catch a few breathtaking views, along with a varied collection of world-class cafés and a dynamic arts scene. While you’re there, make sure to visit the National Museum of New Zealand — Te Papa Tongarewa. Australia Cruisetours

Inland to the Outback. Our Australia cruisetours will bring you deep into the Australian Outback and up to the country’s famed North Coast. You’ll travel by air to the sacred Ayers Rock, known to the Aborigines as Uluru, a colossal sandstone monolith that dominates the desert skyline. From the top, the views of the Northern Territories are incredible. You’ll also fly to Cairns, which provides the jumping-off point for your snorkeling and boating encounters on the Great Barrier Reef, the most expansive and diverse marine ecosystem anywhere in the world. Covering over 132,000 square miles, it’s home to 30 species of whales, dolphins, and porpoises, six species of sea turtles, and more than 1,500 species of fish. North of Cairns, Port Douglas represents a spectacular convergence of lush emerald and glittering sapphire, as the thriving rainforest there extends all the way to the shimmering sea. To ensure that you get the most out of every moment here, Celebrity’s Australia cruisetours are accompanied by an experienced Tour Director who will serve as both knowledgeable guide and personal concierge.

During your cruisetour, you’ll visit the massive red rock that changes colors as the sun rises and sets, walk through the desert landscape on a guided tour, learn about Aboriginal culture, enjoy a barbecue dinner served in the desert, and take an astronomer-led tour of the southern night skies.

Cairns is located in tropical North Queensland. To the north, west, and south, it is surrounded by lush, tropical rainforest. And to the east lies the Coral Sea and the Great Barrier Reef. Apart from being the gateway to magnificent natural attractions, this waterfront city offers an abundance of possibilities, including the opportunity to safely spot crocs.

The once-sleepy, now-bustling seaside village of Port Douglas is a hub for the Great Barrier Reef and rainforest coast. It has become an international holiday mecca, sharing the same tropical latitude as Tahiti. During your cruisetour, you’ll enjoy a full day of marine adventures with opportunities to swim, snorkel, and dive or view the reef from an underwater observatory.

Australia Cruisetour Destinations MAY WE SUGGEST For peace of mind when booking your cruise, consider CruiseCare®. Details on page 107.

Sydney, Australia Sydney, which serves as the beginning and end point of each cruisetour, is the state capital of New South Wales. The city’s focal point is the emerald-hued Sydney Harbour, where the famous Sydney Opera House displays its brilliant white “sails.” At night, take in the glittering views as the harbor reflects the lights of the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the skyscrapers around Circular Quay.

Celebrity’s South America

A South American cruise is a reminder of what explorers must have felt when they gazed upon some of the world’s most unspoiled terrain for the first time. It is a land romanticized by many, and tamed by only a few. You’re invited to discover nature in its most primordial state.

A bird’s-eye view of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

45

Celebrity’s South America

A land of extremes, extremely inviting. There may be no other single continent on earth offering such a wide assortment of sensations. With a Celebrity cruise or cruisetour, you’ll sail through the Strait of Magellan, where the passage’s namesake fought the awesome forces of nature head on in his search for a route around the globe. You’ll travel to cities like Cartagena, Colombia, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, which radiate a distinctly cosmopolitan sophistication that you’ll find delightfully engaging. And you’ll make land at some of the world’s most isolated outposts, like Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands, where penguins outnumber human residents. Natural Wonders The South American coastal landscape exudes a rugged beauty unlike any other place. You’ll see nature’s majesty in the fjords off the Chilean coastline, which are backed by desert plateaus and the jagged

Andes mountains, compared by some to the teeth of some great monster. You may pass through the Panama Canal, one of the world’s most captivating engineering wonders, as well as a haven for tropical

Llamas among the shadows of the Chilean mountains; plaza in Montevideo, Uruguay; the bright colors of a tropical toucan; interior of the Cathedral of Lima, Peru.

wildlife, or sail around Cape Horn, a place early explorers mistook for the end of the world. You’ll watch seals, sea lions, orcas, and flocks of penguins cavort in the seas off Ushuaia, Argentina, Andean condors float effortlessly on thermals, and placid elephant seals wallow at the surf line. If you travel to the continent’s eastern side, you may feel compelled to follow suit, letting an afternoon idly drift by while you relax on some of the world’s most pristine beaches. Experience the Real South American Wildlife While there is no one defining South American landscape, there is a common thread of passion that runs through all of life here, one that you’ll experience at every port of call. Engage in the ultimate dance d’amour, the tango, in Buenos Aires, where its intricate steps were first taken, or do the cueca, Chile’s national dance of love, while in Valparaíso. In Rio de Janeiro, feel the contagious rhythms of the samba and bossa nova reverberate through the streets, long after the spectacle of Carnaval has come to an end.

But not everything in South America is song and dance. A passion for people-watching dominates life in Punta del Este, a sanctuary for the rich and famous who flock here from throughout the Americas. And in Lima, an amazing fusion of past and present is on display, as the vivacity of modern Peruvian life gracefully intertwines with a wealth of Indian traditions.

Arica, Chile

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Cape Horn, Chile

Arica is an oasis bordered by desert and fertile valleys fed by snowmelt from the Andes. Visit the Plaza Colón, Eiffel’s iron Cathedral of San Marcos, and the archeology museum in the nearby Azapa Valley, which houses relics dating back to 10,000 B.C.

If only one word could be used to describe this vibrant and richly cosmopolitan city, it would be “mosaic.” Stroll along these broad thoroughfares, listening to accents from dozens of European cities — from Milan to Madrid to Munich. The artful cultural melding found here is best exemplified by the national dance: the tango.

Tierra del Fuego, Land of Fire, is the most isolated place in the Americas and Cape Horn is its southernmost point. These rugged cliffs and windswept shores are stark, rugged beauty personified, creating a dramatic setting for the collision between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

SHORE EXCURSIONS INCLUDE: Arica & Ancient Cultures, Cuzco & Machu Picchu Adventure, Arica & Desert by Train & Bus

SHORE EXCURSIONS INCLUDE: Gaucho Fiesta & Lunch, Tango Show, Buenos Aires Highlights

Cartagena, Colombia

Chilean Fjords

Fort Lauderdale, Florida

The old city of Cartagena projects the feel of a picture-perfect Spanish colonial village, with cathedrals like Iglesia de Santo Domingo that dominate the skyline. Las Bóvedas, the old military dungeons, have been converted to shops, and the string of fortresses provide the perfect vantage points from which to enjoy the harbor.

These are some of the most magnificent fjords in the world. As your eyes work their way up the jagged walls of mammoth glaciers, you may be rewarded with an Andean condor sighting. On the ocean’s surface, the Magellanic penguins always put on a good show.

Those who think Fort Lauderdale stands in the shadow of Miami are in for a very pleasant surprise. The city has matured into a gracious destination with sophisticated cuisine, nightclubs, and a personality all its own. The restaurants and shopping along Las Olas Boulevard and Himmarshee alone offer proof that Fort Lauderdale has blossomed into something truly special, all while retaining its youthful spirit.

Fuerte Amador, Panama Like a sentry, this old fort stands guard over the Panama Canal’s entrance into the Pacific Ocean. From here you can venture into Panama City for shopping, sit and watch the incredible spectacle of huge ships making their way through the waterway, or take a side trip out to the idyllic islands that dot the mouth of the canal.

La Serena (Coquimbo), Chile If you’re looking to steal a few tranquil moments, what better place than the city known as “The Serene One”? Its nearby pristine beaches come with powdery white sand and warm water. And Chile’s secondoldest city also offers quite a collection of cultural delights. Be sure to take in the stunning colonial architecture around the Plana de Armas and sample the region’s mouthwatering seafood.

Lima (Callao), Peru The cultural and economic heart of Peru, Lima once served as the seat of power for the Spanish Empire in South America. The catacombs beneath the Church of San Francisco are a sight to behold, as are the thousands of antique texts you’ll find in the adjoining monastery. SHORE EXCURSIONS INCLUDE: Treasures of Colonial Lima, Peruvian Art & Museum Tour

Manta, Ecuador

Montego Bay, Jamaica

Montevideo, Uruguay

This port city affords the visitor unprecedented access to ancient Manta culture. A short jaunt from the port lies the Bahía de Manta. There you’ll find the Parque Nacional Machalilla, with its cloud forest, archeological sites, and colonies of nesting seabirds.

Take a walk up into the tropical hillsides overlooking Montego Bay and you can feel the port city’s energy rise to meet you. Players sit relaxed along sidewalks playing dominos, and thriving shopping arcades pulse with activity. No stop here would be complete without a visit to the worldfamous Doctor’s Cave Beach, which is fed by mineral springs.

Uruguay is cattle country, and although Montevideo is a thoroughly modern city with a rich artistic tradition, the reach of the rural estancias is all around you. If ever there were a time you were inclined to indulge, delicious steaks are the specialty of the house in virtually every restaurant.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Panama Canal, Panama

Many visitors to Ocho Rios enjoy a hike up Dunn’s River Falls, with only the seductive rhythms of island reggae and knowledgeable guides accompanying you. On the way you’ll pass through a series of limestone steps hidden beneath the rushing water, stopping along the way for an occasional dip in one of the falls’ clear, terraced pools.

The canal is a marvel of engineering, but it’s also a sanctuary. Caymans prowl its waters, while sloths move slowly through the trees. Harpy eagles rule the skies, gliding on thermals while searching for their next meal, and ocelots hunt along the rainforest floor. There are a thousand details awaiting observant wildlife enthusiasts, including the vibrantly colored toucan.

Puerto Madryn, Argentina

Puerto Montt, Chile

Punta Arenas, Chile

Extending out into the Atlantic from Puerto Madryn is the Península Valdés, a wildlife sanctuary where vast numbers of sea elephants, whales, and Magellanic penguins far outnumber the few human visitors who make it out this far.

This coastal enclave lives and dies by the sea, as evidenced by the colorful fishnet floats that adorn the main cathedral’s altar, the dozens of salmon farms that thrive in the hidden bays, and the hundreds of fishing boats that venture out each dawn in search of ocean bounty.

The southernmost point on the contiguous South American continent, Punta Arenas overlooks the Strait of Magellan and Otway Sound, home to colonies of sea lions and Magellanic penguins. It’s also one of the few places on earth where you can snow ski while looking out over an ocean.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Strait of Magellan

If South America had purposely created a place to compete with the Riviera, this would be it. Carelessly browse through the chic shops and galleries of Calle Gorlero, or spend an idle afternoon people-watching from a beachside café while the assorted sun-lovers and jet-setters around you enjoy one of the continent’s most storied playgrounds.

Every step you take through these streets is set to the beat of pulsating samba rhythms. Feel the spirit of the costumed revelers, who during Carnaval weave through the winding streets under the watchful eye of Christ the Redeemer. Or travel by tram to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain and view it all from above, letting the energetic vibe rise to meet you.

This 360-mile strait is named for the ambitious Portuguese explorer, Ferdinand Magellan, who sought a way to circumnavigate the globe. You’ll retrace his route as you make the only available crossing between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, with the exception of the Panama Canal.

South America Cruisetours

Become a South America insider. Like a great sentry, South America’s rugged coastline stands guard over a continent’s worth of secrets and surprises. To reach this stunning territory requires nothing more than a desire to see a more extraordinary side of life and passage on a Celebrity cruisetour. These itineraries will take you deep into Argentina’s gaucho country, where cowboy is spoken with a Spanish accent and the steaks are fresher than you could possibly imagine. You’ll experience the power of nature on full display while visiting the famed Iguazu Falls. Or walk where few men have, among the awe-inspiring moai of Easter Island, monolithic carvings fashioned from volcanic stone. To ensure that your South America adventure is as unforgettable as the scenery, each cruisetour will be accompanied by a Tour Director who is fluent in the local language and knowledgeable about local customs. There is truly no better way to become an insider here.

Iguazu Falls on the border of Argentina and Brazil; Easter Island’s mysterious carvings; the ornate architecture of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Iguazu Falls

Easter Island, Chile

Perhaps the most cosmopolitan city in all of South America, Buenos Aires combines a European sophistication with a Latin passion. Stroll along the wide, palm treelined streets, like the Plaza de Mayo, where famed first lady Evita Perón led fervent crowds to petition for her husband’s release from prison, or visit Pirámide de Mayo, the oldest of the city’s many national monuments.

While the volume of water that travels over these falls is staggering, size and numbers alone don’t even begin to communicate the sheer power and intensity of this spectacle. Carefully built walkways allow you to venture into the middle of this massive cascade, marveling as the water explodes all around you.

Located over 2,200 miles from Santiago, this outpost is more Polynesian than Chilean. Its most iconic feature is the collection of hundreds of stone carvings that can be found throughout the island’s coastline, some measuring over 30 feet high and weighing over 83 tons. Amazingly, many of these were transported dozens of miles with nothing more than ropes, pulleys, and manpower.

South America Cruisetour Destinations MAY WE SUGGEST For your added convenience, you can view all South America cruisetours on pages 60–61 or at celebritycruises.com/cruisetours.

Santiago, Chile

Valparaíso, Chile

Serving as both Chile’s capital city and its ceremonial heart, Santiago boasts some of South America’s most iconic architecture, embracing both Spanish and German roots. The Palacio de La Moneda is a sprawling complex that provides a rich contrast to its more modern surroundings, and the Bellas Artes Museum hosts many temporary and permanent collections.

There is an elegant grace to this charming city, a poise that contrasts the continent’s more energetic metropolitan areas. Chile’s National Congress is here, as is its first public library and Latin America’s oldest stock exchange. The varied neighborhoods, each of which has its own unique character, are built on a series of hills that face the Pacific and are served by funicular elevators.

Celebrity’s Panama Canal

Celebrity’s Panama Canal

A man-made marvel filled with natural wonder. The Panama Canal didn’t just change the flow of two oceans, it changed the flow of commerce throughout two continents. While this engineering marvel had a huge impact on the history of the world, it’s had little impact on the natural world, and serves as a vast wildlife sanctuary whose many residents pay no mind to the ships that merely pass through. Life flourishes here, allowing the jungle to make inroads all the way down to the shoreline — so close you can hear macaws calling out and see monkeys scampering through the canopy. These encounters are what define Celebrity Cruises® canal voyages. Whether you’re reveling in the good times in Cabo San Lucas or dreamily letting quiet afternoons pass in Curaçao, you’ll find endless delight in the natural wonders that await you, both within the canal and on either side of it. An Engineering Escapade The Panama Canal represents nothing less than a stunning engineering feat of epic proportions.

Stretching 50 miles between two oceans, it took eight years to complete and cost over $350 million,

what would be about $2.5 billion today. Over 230 million cubic yards of earth had to be removed during construction and thousands of workers were involved in the process. However, as large as the task was, the impact has been even greater. About 14,000 ships pass through the canal each year, carrying about 203 million tons of cargo. The passage takes about nine hours, as opposed to the 15 days it would take to navigate a ship the 8,000 miles around the tip of South America. Yet as impressive as the numbers themselves are, they seem to fade as your ship makes its way through this waterway. Capuchin and howler monkeys climb among the trees that come down to the shore, and nearly 1,000 species of colorful birds call out from the branches and soar on the thermals that rise from the waters. The Panama Canal truly represents man and nature at their best.

waves on a windsurfer or venture inland from Puntarenas, Costa Rica, to catch a glimpse of the elusive jaguar. Feel free to succumb to the seductive rhythms of reggae in Montego Bay while snacking on fiery jerk chicken, or peruse more historical flavor on a casual stroll through the old city of Cartagena, Colombia. There are waves to be ridden off San Diego’s Windansea Beach and sun to be worshipped in Huatulco, Mexico. But most importantly, everywhere you go there is an abundance of beauty and excitement to be savored.

Connecting two oceans, creating infinite possibilities. Like a frosty margarita on a sultry afternoon, the many points of interest on these voyages beckon you to dive in. You can swim with stingrays in the famed underwater sanctuaries off the coast of Grand Cayman, or enjoy a drier view of the marine world from the Seaworld Explorer in Aruba. There are hiking trips into the foothills of the Sierra Madre del Sur in Huatulco and duty-free shopping trips from Cristobal Pier. If you can’t get enough of the water, Puntarenas offers river rafting expeditions and trips into the cliffs around La Paz Waterfalls, the most spectacular perspective of a cascade you’ll ever see. Of course, there are the bright lights of exciting cities to explore, like San Diego, San Francisco, and Fort Lauderdale. There’s no telling how far a shore excursion can take you. • Whale-Watching Cruise (Mexico)

Walk along the same beaches where pirates like Sir Francis Drake buried their ill-gotten gains, or stand back in awe as the famed clavadistas, or cliff divers, plunge into the depths from impossible heights. The liveliness of beach life carries straight into nightlife, as the city offers a dizzying array of late-night options.

This southernmost enclave on the tip of the Baja Peninsula features unearthly rock formations, cantinas owned by rock stars, and a coastline that’s ideal for kayak exploration, snorkeling, windsurfing, and whale watching.

The old city of Cartagena projects the feel of a picture-perfect, Spanish colonial village, with cathedrals like Iglesia de Santo Domingo that dominate the skyline. Las Bóvedas, the old military dungeons, have been converted to shops, and the string of fortresses provide the perfect vantage points from which to enjoy the harbor.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida

It’s less than 20 miles off the coast from Los Angeles, but Catalina Island is a world away from the city’s bright lights. Protected by the most stringent measures anywhere, this sanctuary is pure paradise. Boaters who make it out here find art deco architecture, quaint boutiques, and an eclectic dining experience.

One of the most popular ports of call found on our Panama itineraries, Cristobal is the perfect jumping-off point for the cities of Colón and Panama City.

From here you can venture into Panama City for shopping, sit and watch the incredible spectacle of huge ships making their way through the waterway, or take a side trip out to the idyllic islands that dot the mouth of the canal.

George Town, Grand Cayman Once a hideout for some of the most notorious pirates in history, Grand Cayman is now host to visitors eager to peer into the almost extraterrestrial world of Stingray City. National Geographic named swimming among the rays as one of the most rewarding experiences in the undersea world. Los Angeles is a city that defies easy descriptions. Whether you love browsing or buying on Rodeo Drive, dining in some of America’s best-known gourmet restaurants, or simply basking in the glow of Hollywood’s spotlights, you’ll find more than enough to fill your visit here.

Take a walk up into the tropical hillsides overlooking Montego Bay and you can feel the port city’s energy rise to meet you. Players sit relaxed along sidewalks playing dominoes, and thriving shopping arcades pulse with activity. No stop here would be complete without a visit to the worldfamous Doctor’s Cave Beach, which is fed by mineral springs.

While the Dutch originally settled this island paradise, the remnants of what they brought along are flavored with the essence of the Caribbean, an intermingling that extends to everything from the cuisine to the architecture.

Located along the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, Puntarenas is a great place to see native wildlife such as the scarlet macaw and the capuchin monkey. It’s also home to the alpha predator of Central America, the jaguar. This region continues to grow in popularity with surfers from around the world.

One of the world’s most exciting and eclectic cities, San Francisco offers visitors a wealth of possibilities — iconic landmarks like Fisherman’s Wharf, Lombard Street, and Alcatraz Island, as well as man-made wonders, like the Golden Gate Bridge, and nods to the past, like the cable cars on Powell Street.

While San Juan is a vibrant, modern port city, it also has one foot anchored proudly in the past, dating back to its time as a Spanish colonial outpost. Many of the old structures, including forts and cathedrals, date back to the early 16th century and the conquest by Juan Ponce de León in 1508.

A drive over the fabled Queen Juliana Bridge, 185 feet above the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, presents one of the most breathtaking views of this former Dutch colony. The island’s abundance of forts belies its warm, welcoming nature, which you’ll discover on a trip to the Old Market. There, you can mingle with the local shoppers and fishmongers, and even enjoy some fresh grilled grouper or snapper.

The Galapagos Islands

CelebrityXpedition

®

Cultivate your sense of wonder. Celebrity Cruises® offers a one-of-a-kind experience on Celebrity Xpedition to one of the earth’s most precious archipelagos, the Galapagos Islands. With a focus on personal enrichment and ecological conservation, this journey not only introduces you to the creatures that inspired Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution, but also invites you to be a part of their future by participating in preservation efforts.

Aboard Celebrity Xpedition With fewer than 100 guests per sailing, a 2-to-1+ guest to-staff ratio, and many of the amenities you would expect, Celebrity Xpedition offers a truly intimate encounter with the Galapagos Islands year-round. As the only major cruise line sailing these waters,

Celebrity Cruises offers touches of the familiar, such as complimentary plush Frette® bathrobes, hot tub, sauna, and fitness room — and our lounge, featuring nightly lectures by naturalists and live music. This cruise is all-inclusive, from staff gratuities to all shore

excursions. What’s more, you’ll have the comfort of knowing that while your Galapagos experience will touch you in unimagined ways, you’ll sail this itinerary on a ship ecologically designed to leave the islands virtually untouched. Cruising the Galapagos Islands During your journey, you’ll voyage more than 600 miles from the coast of Ecuador to cruise through islands so isolated they contain over 1,900 species of plants and animals that cannot be found anywhere else on the planet. And once you’re there, you’ll be delighted by the approachability of the creatures you’ll see. Having lived thousands of years without fear of predators, they’re as interested in you as you are in them. Continuing Your Exploration For a seamless Celebrity experience, you can start and end your trip in Quito, Ecuador, with a pre- and post-cruise package. This 10-night Galapagos experience includes a fully guided Quito tour, your

Galapagos cruise, transportation (including round-trip air from Quito to Galapagos) and Celebrity concierge service. You’ll also have the rare opportunity of combining your Galapagos cruise with a four-night best of Ecuador and Peru post-cruise tour. During your journey, knowledgeable guides will lead you through Peru’s well-preserved archeological sites, including Lima, Cuzco, the Sacred Valley, Ollantaytambo, and Machu Picchu.

Galapagos This enriching voyage represents a rare opportunity to absorb the lessons of nature in one of the world’s largest classrooms. Traveling in the company of a team of certified Galapagos naturalists, who will interpret every surrounding detail, you’ll have a front-row seat to a wide array of natural wonders — from sunbathing marine iguanas to the imperceptible movement of giant tortoises. Yet despite the impact these islands will have on you, the trip has been designed so that we will have a minimal impact on the environment, ensuring that generations of animals, and human visitors, can enjoy this special place for decades to come.

10-Night Galapagos Experience During your Galapagos experience, you’ll spend three nights in Quito and seven nights aboard the intimate Celebrity Xpedition® experiencing the Galapagos Islands. Several excursion options offered each day, included with your cruise and accompanied by expert guides, allow you to choose between high, medium, and low intensity so you can encounter each island at your own pace.

Days 1–2

Day 3

Day 4

Pre-Cruise Quito

Sunday ISLA BALTRA

Monday Morning PUERTO BAQUERIZO MORENO, ISLA SAN CRISTÓBAL Located on one of the four islands that Charles Darwin visited aboard the HMS Beagle, this administrative capital of the Galapagos features cobblestone streets and a pleasant waterfront park. In early morning, we’ll circumnavigate Kicker Rock, known as the Galapagos version of Gibraltar, and you may take a Zodiac cruise to the rock for closer observation. After breakfast, your morning excursion options include a dry landing for shopping and a visit to an interpretation center covering human history and conservation of the Galapagos archipelago.

Friday QUITO, ECUADOR Our 10-night Galapagos experience includes two nights pre-cruise and one night post-cruise in Quito for a seamless Celebrity vacation from the time your plane lands in Ecuador. On the first day of your journey, you’ll be greeted at the airport by a Celebrity representative and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy free time to relax and settle in.

Other Options Featuring Quito • 2-Night Pre-Cruise/2-Night Post-Cruise Quito Tour • 4-Night Post-Cruise Best of Ecuador & Peru Tour

Saturday QUITO, ECUADOR During a guided tour of the capital of Ecuador, situated at an altitude of 9,350 feet, you’ll stand on the equatorial line at the Half of the World Park and Museum, and marvel at the monasteries of San Francisco and Santo Domingo. Your Tour Director will escort you throughout your Quito stay, offering an uninterrupted experience from your cruise, and serve as your personal concierge.

(Cruise Departure) Your Celebrity representative will escort you from the Quito airport all the way to Isla Baltra in the Galapagos. At the airport, enjoy refreshments in the Royal Palm VIP Lounge, which has been reserved for you. During World War II, the island’s airport was a U.S. military base protecting the Panama Canal from enemy attack. Now, surrounding the airport are land iguanas indigenous to the island. Your luggage will be delivered straight to your stateroom aboard Celebrity Xpedition, so you can unpack and enjoy exploring the 296-foot megayacht, your home for the week.

Sunday Afternoon ISLA NORTH SEYMOUR Isla North Seymour is home to a thriving colony of frigate birds, the largest in the Galapagos. Keep an eye on the males’ red gular sac, which may inflate like a balloon in anticipation of a female seeing them. You may also encounter breeding pairs of Blue-footed Boobies displaying their slow mirror dance or spot numerous iguanas and sea lions. Your afternoon excursion options include a dry landing with guided hike, a Zodiac coastline cruise with dry landing and short hike, or a scenic Zodiac coastline cruise to view geological formations. Later onboard, your captain welcomes you with a toast and a naturalist briefs you on the next day’s activities (offered nightly).

Monday Afternoon PUNTA SUÁREZ, ISLA ESPAÑOLA Punta Suárez, or Suárez Point, is located on the oldest Galapagos island and has a high concentration of wildlife. Expect to observe sea lions, Galapagos hawks, blue-footed and masked boobies, and red marine iguanas, strange creatures found only on this island. This afternoon, you may attend the first of our Celebrity Xpedition Lecture Series onboard to learn more about the islands’ geology. Afternoon excursions offer three different levels of activity, including a high-intensity hike (follow the trail to the very edge of the dramatic southern cliff, where an impressive blowhole gushes water up to 20 meters in the air).

Celebrity Xpedition exploring the coastline of the Galapagos Islands; a Galapagos sea lion; a blue-footed booby perched on a warm rock; a naturalist-led excursion to view giant tortoises.

Day 5

Day 6

Day 7

Tuesday Morning CORMORANT POINT,

Wednesday Morning LAS BACHAS,

ISLA FLOREANA Isla Floreana was once a penal colony for Ecuador, the first capital of the Galapagos and where Charles Darwin met the Galapagos viceroy. Your excursion options include a medium-intensity wet landing at Cormorant Point (or Punta Cormorant), where you may see two plant species found only at this particular site, as well as flamingos, stilts, and white-cheeked pintail ducks. Or try advanced snorkeling to Champion Island to spy grunts, groupers, chubs, spotted eagle rays, white-tipped reef sharks, sea stars, parrotfish, and rainbow wrasse.

ISLA SANTA CRUZ The name “Las Bachas” comes from the locals’ poor English pronunciation of “barges” to describe the WWII barges that broke free from their moorings and ran aground on this beach. A pair of beach lagoons occasionally host flamingos feeding in the shallows. And the beach itself is one of the largest nesting areas of the Pacific green sea turtle in the Galapagos. Morning excursions include a wet landing and hike to view flamingos, followed by an opportunity to swim from the beach, and a wet landing at the beach for a few hours of relaxation.

Thursday Morning ELIZABETH BAY, ISLA ISABELA Isla Isabela, the largest island in the Galapagos Archipelago, is composed of five volcanoes, with the latest eruption occurring in October 2005. The cold, nutrient-rich waters of Elizabeth Bay and the small Mariela Islands provide the perfect home for the Galapagos penguin. This morning, you may opt for a scenic Zodiac ride to view the Mariela Islands and Galapagos penguins. Then back onboard the ship, we’ll spend some time cruising along the scenic Isabela and Fernandina islands to search for whales and dolphins.

Tuesday Afternoon BARONESS OUTLOOK,

Wednesday Afternoon ISLA BARTOLOMÉ A recently volcanically active island, Isla Bartolomé has a moon-like landscape and volcanic cones. Before we anchor, attend today’s lecture about the Human History of the Galapagos Archipelago. Afternoon excursions include a “To the Top” Pinnacle Rock hike and beach snorkel/swim and a coastal exploration Zodiac cruise with an optional beach landing. The view from the top of Pinnacle Rock is perhaps the most famous in the Galapagos, with the opportunity to see up to 26 islands if visibility allows. On the beach, watch for Galapagos penguins, some of the smallest penguins in the world.

ISLA FLOREANA Baroness Outlook lends a little mystery to Isla Floreana as the spot where a self-proclaimed Baroness, who inexplicably disappeared with her lover in the 1930s, kept watch for incoming ships. Afternoon excursions include advanced snorkeling at Mystery Bay and a low-intensity Zodiac ride for wildlife observation. When the stars come out, join us for an alfresco dinner and stargazing with our bridge officers.

Thursday Afternoon PUNTA ESPINOZA, ISLA FERNANDINA Isla Fernandina is the youngest Galapagos island due to its volcanic activity. As Darwin wrote, it is “covered with immense deluges of black naked lava.” During the afternoon excursions, hike along Punta Espinoza to view several sea lion colonies, the largest colony of marine iguanas and a nesting area for flightless cormorants. Or enjoy a low-intensity journey into the Bolivar Channel searching for pelagic bird species and possibly whales and dolphins, with an optional landing for closer observation.

Day 8

Days 9-10

Days 10-11*

Friday Morning PUERTO EGAS, ISLA SANTIAGO (SAN SALVADOR) Puerto (Port) Egas on San Salvador Island, also called James or Santiago Island, offers the most popular walk along James Bay on a black-sand beach. On the trail, look for oystercatchers, marine iguanas, sandpipers, Galapagos hawks, Sally lightfoot crabs, and Galapagos and fur sea lions. Excursion options include a high-intensity “Survival of the Fittest” hike with swimming/ snorkeling at the beach, a high-intensity coastal walk followed by swimming/snorkeling, and a low-intensity landing for relaxing on the beach or swimming and snorkeling.

Saturday PUERTO AYORA, ISLA SANTA CRUZ

Post-Cruise Quito

Friday Afternoon DRAGON HILL, ISLA SANTA CRUZ Dragon Hill, or “Cerro Dragón,” is named after its population of land iguanas. The site offers a beautiful view of the landscape and two small brackish lagoons where flamingos and other shore birds occasionally feed. Along the trail, we’ll cross a beautiful “white forest” of Palo Santo (incense) trees and Galapagos cotton plants. Excursion options include a high-intensity hike with swimming/ snorkeling at the beach, high-intensity snorkeling from a Zodiac followed by a short walk, and a low-intensity landing for relaxing on the beach or swimming and snorkeling.

Sunday Morning ISLA BALTRA

Puerto (Port) Ayora is home to the Charles Darwin Research Station and the National Park Service. At the Darwin Station, learn more about tortoise preservation and try for a lucky peek at Lonesome George, the last member of the Pinta Island species. Morning and afternoon shore excursions include a Tortuga Bay hike and lagoon swim, a bus ride to the highlands to observe giant tortoises in the wild and a visit to the Charles Darwin Research Station, all followed by free time to shop before returning to the ship. Onboard, enjoy a farewell cocktail party and folkloric show with the captain and a barbecue dinner under the stars.

Cruise Disembarkation Your round-trip Galapagos cruise brings you back to Isla Baltra, home to the Baltra airport. If you chose the 10-night Quito package, a Celebrity representative will greet you at the airport for your flight to your post-cruise Quito experience. At the airport, enjoy refreshments in the Royal Palm VIP Lounge, which has been reserved for you. Your luggage will be transferred from the ship directly to the plane. As your flight takes off, enjoy one last aerial view of one of the world’s most treasured archipelagoes.

Sunday Afternoon & Monday QUITO, ECUADOR Upon your arrival in Quito, a Celebrity representative will escort you to your hotel. Enjoy an afternoon excursion to the local craft market. Then join us for a farewell dinner at a local gourmet restaurant. On Monday, after a continental breakfast, your Celebrity representative will once again escort you to the airport for your return flight home.
