CONFESSION AND PARDON Let us confess our sins to God, the source of freedom and forgiveness. Page | 2

Almighty God, we confess that we have not been faithful to you in our thoughts and actions. We have been selfish in our desires and quarrelsome in our relationships. We have allowed fear to divide us from those who seem different, and let distrust separate us from our brothers and sisters. Shine your light into our darkened hearts. Save us from our divisive ways. Unite us in the same mind as Jesus Christ who dwells with you and the Holy Spirit in perfect harmony. Silence Amen. God offers forgiveness to those who turn to God in true repentance. Therefore, trust in God, who breaks the bonds of our oppression, and covers us in mercy. Sisters and Brothers in Christ, in the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven! In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven! Glory to God in heaven, and on earth peace among us all! Amen. *THE PEACE

Let us offer one another signs of reconciliation and love.

in Christ resumes TOMORROW, 6PM with the study The Way of Blessedness. This study is an invitation for small group members to discover and live in the kingdom of God. Each week is an exploration of one of the Beatitudes from Matthew 5. Unlike other books on the Beatitudes, this book is threaded throughout with spiritual practices that form participants spiritually while informing them about scripture. This 9-week journey helps participants empty themselves of pride so that they can be filled with God's abundant love. This study meets in the Admin Bldg Serenity Room. Contact Elisa, [email protected] for more information. All are welcome!

You can bring your permission slips if you have them ready! Marsha😃 478.442.7450

Quarterly Orientation Class January 29, February 5, and 12 During the 9:00 Sunday School hour Education Building Room 5

The SPRC will meet Thursday, January 26, 6PM in the Admin Bldg Wonder Women Room. If you are an SPR committee member, and unable to attend, please let Tom McMichael or the church office know.

Over these weeks we will look at what it means to be a United Methodist – our history, our theology, our worship, the sacrament, our polity, etc. We will also learn about the history and practices of Christ UMC. This very informative time will answer many questions you might have before you join or after you join CUMC.

The 1st George Ealer Blood Drive of 2017 is

Monday, January 30th, 10:30AM to 7PM

in the Fellowship Hall. The drive will be in memory of Helen Manning, a charter member of Christ UMC.

ஷஷஷஷஷஷஷஷஷஷஷஷஷஷஷஷ

Please sign up in the Narthex or call the church office at 922-0211. Child care will be available during the drive. Major news sources are reporting that there is a critical blood shortage that could delay medical care for patients. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.
